80% of people are happy with their health care. There needs to be fixes, but we don't want it shoved down our throat quickly. The government will screw it up like everything else. And no this isn't some mob created by the GOP; people are angry and Obama and his henchmen ramming this through. The masses don't want this done, that's where you're wrong. All polls are showing most Americans are against this massive overhaul.

I have GREAT Health Care... but, that's not the problem. I am a Pink Slip away from losing my Health Care... and so is EVERYONE ELSE that has their Health care provided by their employer.
Even those with current Health Care... you never know what you will be up against in case you get a real, tough health crisis... such as cancer. There is a fair to good possibility that an Insurance adjuster might find an error in your paperwork that could possibly suggest that you had a pre-existing condition. You may have to fight your insurance company as well as the disease that is trying to kill you. Yeah... in most cases, they will settle... but, why put you through that trauma when you need to be focusing on getting well... instead of possible financial ruin?

yeah, they/he obviously held no love for bush... but it's not like when clinton was in office it was all roses.. plenty of political aggression falling out of eddie's face at that time as well...
so whereas i doubt ed will write a bushleaguer for obama, i think it's fair to say obama will be held accountable.
agreed.
Peace, Love.

the OP wanted to make poeple annoyed simple as that... It's a ridiculous thread and idea. They supported Obama as well as millions of Americans. Deal with the fact that he is SO much better and more popular than our george. Frankly the direction Obama has taken so far I like.

In a society in which families are losing their homes due to high medical bills, premiums are rising 4 times faster than wages, and health care costs are the #1 cause of bankruptcy today, whichever side of the aisle you vote for we can all agree that no person should be denied adequate health care simply because they cannot afford it.

As a Canadian, it is shocking to me that people go bankrupt because they get sick.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V

So until the day comes when somebody comes up with a Anti-Obama Jam Song listen to this one...
*We CAN bomb the World to pieces, but we CAN'T bomb it into PEACE*...Michael Franti
*MUSIC IS the expression of EMOTION.....and that POLITICS IS merely the DECOY of PERCEPTION*
.....song_Music & Politics....Michael Franti
*The scientists of today think deeply instead of clearly. One must be sane to think clearly, but one can think deeply and be quite INSANE*....Nikola Tesla(a man who shaped our world of electricity with his futuristic inventions)
Somehow i dont think the concept of political fairness ever entered into their minds when writing music. They aren't the news media, which of course is always 'fair and balanced' .
news media fair and balanced if that sells the news papers or gets the viewers then thats what they do
as for an anti obama pearl jam song, wont we have to wait a bit for everyone to see what he does
they should probablly write an anti kevin rudd song first though.

when did ed ever say he supported obama ? all i remember ever reading was something about a song that M. Cameron did.
I know it's only a song but when Ed sings I am a Patriot he seems very sincere when he sings the verse's I ain't no socialist ,I ain't no communist, I ain't no capitalist, ain't no Imperialist, and I ain't no democrat and I sure as fuck ain't no republican.

I know he changed the words to Watchtower when I saw them at MSG in '08. The line "2 riders were approaching" was changed to "Obama was approaching." Also, I believe I heard him say at DC '08 that he was glad to see that there would be "some color in the White House." Somewhere else out there is an interview that took place after the inauguration where Ed sounded more than pleased with Obama being sworn in. He was conspicuously absent on "Barack Around The Clock" though
Ed clearly supported Obama. For crying out loud he had a massive banner carried across the stage during the solo shows. I also remember him saying his life couldn't be more perfect because "one daughter is 4 years 4 months old, on daughter is 4 months, 4 days old, and Barack Obama is the 44th President of the US"
Franti-- I love his positivity, I really do... Except here. I'm glad you like the song G, but I couldn't even finish listening to it.
I don't think he'll have this same kind of optimism in a year or 2-- he might not even have it now (Franti keeps it real). I don't recall him having any vocal opinion about Barry when I saw them play at Mountain Jam this year.

"all polls" "against this massive overhaul" ??
did you forget about the 50 million of us without health care? that's a good percentage of the population.
profiting from health care is absurd. people are dying because they can't afford procedures. that's criminal. something needs to be done.
It's funny to read Americans calling Obama a socialist ...
its fucking embarrasing.
Socialism is the new Scary Word. You can't run around screaming about Communists any more (oh so passe), but since the word "socialist" was associated with communism (as in the USSR--Union of Soviet Socialist Republics!--yikes!!!!), it's the new way of screaming "Communist!" without actually doing so and looking dated and uncool. So, right-wingers and less informed others worry about Obama being a "Socialist" and the US becoming a horrible country like Sweden where everyone leads a horrible, deprived life spent standing in lines or being sent to work camps or being forced to name all their children Ulla Inga Hansen Benson Yonsen Tallen-Hallen as their first name. Even worse, the US could become like that socialist place Denmark and become filled with people with odd names like Vedder running around in it. Scares me to death to think of the upshot of that, as it should scare every True American.
It is fucking embarrassing to think of Americans calling Obama a socialist. Some are doing it for their own scheming little reasons and political advancement for the their party and some are doing it because they don't know any better--don't know what socialism actually is, don't know that the US has borrowed heavily from socialism all their lives, and don't seem to realize that Obama is not a socialist but actually a very typically American president who blends economic policies and synthesizes something a bit novel just as every American president has for nearly the last century.
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama

i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'

Ah well, to each his own I guess.
The song is fine for that time and moment last November. I was with Michael backstage and at soundcheck in DC shortly after the lyrics to the song was written here in DC. Michael like myself knows Obama is NOT perfect however given the choices that was at hand he appears to like Obama. I like him too even though I didn't vote for him I voted for Ralph Nader.
We shall see what the future holds for Obama and his administration, remember the mess that this country is in didn't happen overnight it took years and it certainly won't be solved anytime soon.

I wish there were a way for people who NEED health care could get it from the government as a last resort, without basically causing the end of the private insurance that most of us with jobs already have.
I don't want to lose what I've got now, which would be the net effect of the plan being proposed. It seems like there should be some middle ground, but nobody seems to want to go there.

I enjoy Pearl Jam's music and most, definitely not all of, their messages. The last thing on earth I care about is every other poster's politics.
Now about the music. Bushleaguer sucked (I did like the music), but overall, as a song it sucked. Worldwide Suicide was awesome. I only hope that if Pearl jam have an Anti-Obama song, is that its rocking.
I have my own political beliefs and I don't think anybody else gives a shit. And that's fine. I just don't see the need to air them anonymously on a rock band's message board like a lot of you do. I'm sure I'm not alone.
Bushleagers lyrics are freakin great........"drilling for fear makes the job simple" sh*t...the core of how humans in power get the followers to support really idiotic things....I mean come on.
Obama's doing some shit I dont' agree with but fkn Bush.....no better than Amadinijad.

I have questions about countries with universal health care....
Is their like a monthly premium that everyone pays?
Is it soley funded by the tax payers?
If I get sick, they find out I have cancer, how long will it take for me to get treatment?
How much will I have to pay?
What if I can't pay?
What if I don't pay?
What happens??
I really don't understand the universal system.
They pay lots of taxes....but my Gma lives in one of those countries...is in late 80's...gets incredible care..has doctor that visits her...and my family has Zero chance of losing everything to pay for her bills. We need reform..period....how to do it?
