My Office / Workplace

I work at a "boutique-ish" Entertainment CPA firm.

I am always amazed at what goes on here:

Today: A bookkeeper who started here on Monday just knocked-over a water cooler, and then fell in the puddle.

This week: A newer employee wears gallons of perfume to mask the smell of cigarette smoke....People complain everyday, yet she has ignored several warnings from the partners, and she continues to splash it on freely!

Last week: A disliked employee that is always on the defensive closed her office door, yet she spoke loud enough for her telephone conversation to be heard. She was discussing how she is preparing to sue the firm for stress. The partner warned her that people overheard her conversation, and the next day, she was "mad dogging" the girl who reported her to the partner.

Another annoying employee drinks beer with her lunch on Saturdays, which I assume is against firm policy.

One of the partners has several "girlfriends" who come to visit. His door is always closed during said visits, and you can guess the rest!

I can be a bit eccentric and racy at work, but compared to most everyone else, I am pretty normal!

i could become a product of my environment, i'm sure.
  • you should try to out-strange people there.

I like to pretend to have an accent and then switch the accent around...it's best if you can't "do" accents at all.

a fake German accent is my favorite.

    sounds like a good time

ive been thinking about intentionally finding an odd/shitty job (adult book store, colonial reenactment theme park, etc) just for the experience... ive hardly lived enough to write a good memoire...

just enjoy it as an innocent bystander :D
