Let's talk about Speed of Sound, shall we?

for those of u who actually got all the pices of the puzzle.....how fuckin good Speed of sound is? uhm? is it just me or it s a great freakin song? i just cant stop listenin to it...

a whispear in the dark...is that you or just my thoughts?

    it's fantastic. i'm anxious to hear what the full band version sounds like. i thought the magazine that leaked the tracklisting said it was a mid-tempo.

    I could definitely see the pace picked up a notch on the chorus, especially the last two stanzas. For some reason, I would also like to see the finger picking eliminated or pushed to the background. I have nothing against fingerplay, but for some reason in this case I would like to go without it.

    Unless the other six songs are no good, this album looks like a winner.

    Music is subjective, we all have our opinions...and we must respect everyones opinion....

    To me this song is boring, slow, not structured properly, and just flat out something nobody would ever hear if it wasnt a PJ tune.....

    The demo is gorgeous. I can't wait to hear what this turns into on the album, but I'm totally grateful to the band for giving us this beautiful version.

    It took about 5 listens to get into it which is nothing new for me.
    But once you catch all the hooks, it's good. Very good.

    I love this song...I cry EVERY time I listen to it...boy I hope they don't play it at any shows I'll be at or the people around me will see a woman weeping like a small child... :lol: :? :oops:

    I'm really sorry, I apologise in advance. So you'd rather them go the full 5 against 1? Oh man. You left yourself so wide open for that. I should be more mature but I couldn't resist. Again, sorry. No intent to insult.

    By the way, I love SOS and can't wait for the album.

    i like it, but it doesnt really stick with me. For some reason, unlike Gone, I think this song can really use the rest of the band, especiallly the end. If they ramp it up at the end, this song could be epic!

    Like it... I had to get used to the melody, but fell in love with the lyrics. I'm very curious about the meaning of the "speed of sound". It seems to mean something, or be a methaphore of something, but the meaning deludes me. (Any opinions.) I think that this song is interlinked with Supersonic; two pieces of one song... (Or maybe lyrically at least...)

    Im going to Hawaii next month with the wife for a week of vacation....

    staying at the RITZ CARLTON....is that nice? I wanted to stay at the Grand Wileahea

    This song has me so excited. I hope it doesn't get the "Gone" treatment on the album. It is pure beauty just the way it is.

    i have a feeling a lot of people might be dissappointed with the album version. from everything ive heard, its very different from this one. but thats why we have both versions! Personally, i think this song can benefit from the band.

    i hate to admit it.. but it sucks... i always hated ed solo acoustic... i couldn't even sit thru 1 listen of into the wild.. its just so boring..sad to say..

    there was nothing on into the wild that made me think a few more listens would maybe change my mind...it just wasnt good IMO

    speed of sounds demo sounds good - classic pearl jam ballard.

    but I just caved and listened to the Amonst thw Waves clip, I knw it's short but WOW, this song sounds like it's gonna be epic. I'm excited about this!!!

    Was the Hawaii performance pretty true to the SOS demo?
