I hope so! I'm actually less optimistic about this album than I have been about any of theirs, but I'm sure, at worst, it will be good. at best, GREAT! Fixer is just OK to my ears so far. Got some is a bit better, although not classic by any stretch.
Yeah, I am sure it is!!! PJ has never let us down with any of their albums so far...

Backspacer is going to be one of my absolute favourites, I can already tell. I've heard Got Some, The End, The Fixer, Speed of Sound demo and Unthought Known and I can feel the theme of the album which fits in so well with the album title.
It appears as though there will be a stark dichotomy between the optimistic songs such as The Fixer and Got Some which look to the future somewhat and acknowledge the chance of making things better from now onwards. Contrasting that optimism somewhat is a song like The End and Speed of Sound which deals with not being able to control what has already happened or is going to happen thanks to a bad choice or a bad habit and so feeling regret and guilt and frustration at how fast time goes in life.
Add to that the album title being Backspacer and I think it's all so coherent and I absolutely love what I've heard. I may be way off with the themes here, but that's what I'm hearing so far.
I heard a live version of Unthought Known for the first time last night and it almost brought tears to my eyes.
"See the path cut by the moon, for you to walk on" - that could be my favourite line so far.
