You're True

Thanks Rob for playing this GEM on pjradio a lot lately. It's one of my all-time favorites and I think should be played at every show i attend:
Lonely cliffs and waterfalls
If no one sees me, i'm not here at all
You could be the one to liberate me From the sun
So please, give the moon to me
I'd be indebted to ya
Walk the dog and pay rent to ya
If you say the word, i'm yours
Oh sure...
Nothing ever goes my way
But with you here, that all will change
Suddenly i'm a new born child
And i'm ready to live a while with you
So much left to do
And so i thank you dearly
For letting me see clearly
Open up, she said
You're true, be you
I'm at home in my own skin
I'm like an ocean's tide come in
Yes you could be the one to hold my Hand beneth the full moon
You could be the one
You're true, you're true
You're true, you're true
You're true...0 -
yes and every time I hear it...I want to impale myself

I've never heard this song - but I know it has a massive impact of Sky - it must be one of the few in the catalogue that I don't know.
I can predict a head-on collision here though ..... I too have songs I never ever want to hear againCancel my subscription to the Ressurection

This is one of Eddies great "ukulele" songs. Ed first performed these songs during the solo gigs he did back in the begininng of 2002. I think the best version of "You're True" is from 3/15/02.
You can read about these shows here: http://www.twofeetthick.com/concert-chronology/pj2002/
Ed recorded these songs for a solo ukulele album and gave it to a few (very lucky) friends. It is yet to be released. Here is Ed's quote about this:
"I did record it and gave it to a few friends. I was going through a rough time – it was after Roskilde [the Danish festival where, in 2000, nine Pearl Jam fans were trampled to death in a stage crush] and after a number of things in our personal lives. And this tiny little instrument with four strings, which could almost fit in your back pocket, became like a good friend. The uke is an incredible machine for learning about melody and chord structure – you're suddenly able to write ragtime classics! So I wrote these sad songs on a happy instrument. It helped me process some really painful things at the time, but I didn't want to release it because it felt too personal. It's funny now, with some distance, they're not as heartbreaking as I thought. So...it may get released. We'll see."
You can watch Ed performing "Can't Keep" on the uke here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Po6U4EeQ820I Saw Pearl Jam!

Also you should not judge "You're True" based only on the 12/2/06 version. You need to listen to the 3/15/02 version. It is exceptional. PM me if you need it.I Saw Pearl Jam!

I COMPLETELY AGREE0 -
Another vote for the uke album. I love all the songs from that album that I've heard by now, and to think that there is something out there equally gorgeous, already recorded, needs just a little push and, most important, Eddie doesn't mind people hearing it...
