Just started thinking of this, actually came about after listening to some live DTE. His bass line right at the "Nothing...why...because" part, ALWAYS gets me. So friggin catchy. Of course, the intro to Jeremy is the most recognized of his bass lines. I'd have to say that part in DTE always gets me tho, what say the rest of ya?

  • I agree, the outro bass "solo" on Present Tense is killer.

Others that rate a mention are "Push Me, Pull Me", "W.M.A.", "Glorified G" and (the tone rather than line so much) on Go and Animal. There's plenty more that are all escaping me at the moment.

Agree with everything that has been mentioned so far. Also love the bass line in the outtro to the studio version of Immortality.

I was actually thinking about this recently. I think Got Some has the potential to be one of my Jeff favorites. Others: Faithful, Army Reserve, Go and Parachutes.

    Oceans.

Jeez. Am I the only one? It's fluid, melodic, original, and genius. No other bass player could've come up with what Ament did in Oceans.

In hiding in general is a masterpiece for me. Especially jeff. It sounds different to anything he did on any other song before. Agree 100% with all the posts so far.

  • Surprised no one has mentioned JEREMY with the good ol' HAMER 12 on it.......pretty unusual at the time and he used that puppy a lot early on.......

That little scale he plays in No Way is pretty cool.

I also enjoyed his cover of the Barney Miller theme song.

Green Disease is great. The awful NME has a poll to rate the best bass players ever & no Jeff. You wouldn't expect any less from them. He is awsesome.
