There is no Target in Canada. And Independant Record Stores are scarce in my area. Will Backspacer be avalaible everywhere?

they did say they'd do their best to have it to you by release date. my history with ordering new LPs from 10C is that i have always got it earlier than release day.

buy it from iTunes if you have to..

  • pretty sure universal is distributing it internationally so it should be available at some chains in canada.

i would also get on the phone with some of your local mom and pop shops to make sure theyll be stocking the record.

    order from the 10c though!
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

I called & asked a few stores locally here. Bestbuy, Futureshop, HMV & Walmart , the big store's , and they have no word or info about the release. Will only a few weeks away, and nothing. :(

Kinda hope 10club let's up download the ablum @ 12am PST time it officially get's released, like they did for the 'self titled' album. Though with the latest round's of shipping from 10club, we might get the album here in Canada before a few friends from the USA do. ;)

The CD will be at every traditional outlet in Canada from Loblaws to Best Buy. No worries. Criminal Records in Toronto already told me they expect to have the vinyl and to call back in a couple of weeks so they know what kind of inventory they expect to have (to reserve a copy). They also said something interesting about how Sony was really difficult to deal with re: vinyl and would only press a record for a very short period of time which made distribution for local record stores a nightmare. He said Universal was much easier to deal with. For whatever its worth.

Best record store in the city for new LPs, imo. They don't sell used records, but their prices are WAY cheaper than anywhere else including chains and they have an excellent selection. Good dudes work there and as mjb found out, they LOVE ranting about record distribution. Definitely where I'll be pre-ordering Backspacer from.
    Definitely check them out, demetrios.
