on one of the crappiest radio stations-you know the type, their playlist consists of 2 black eyed peas songs, taylor swift, lady gaga, greenday and the newest techno/dance party/club song on the countdown, thats it for the hour with shitty djs talking absolute shit-and no i wasnt listening, my mother was! anyway this radio station was promoting pearl jams NZ dates hard out, they go on to telling everyone to quickly join 10c so you can get great tickets like all of us here would-this club is for hard core fans, people who live and breathe pearl jam, people who get a tingle down their back when mike cracks out an inspiring solo, when your screen name on every site is a reference to the band, when your home or room is plastered with memorabillia, when you would cry at the chance of meeting them in person, when you would cry at the chance of seeing them in concert(probably just me :D ), when every word that comes out of eddies mouth is like the word of god-we are the ones who deserve awesome tickets, this is gonna be my first time seeing them(i know i know! how can this be)

i am so excited but this puts a real damper on things. is it just me, am i being selfish or do you agree?

god it feels good getting this out there, be nice.

    I'd say its fair.

I'm sure most of us that are members are in it for the ticket benefits. The other stuff is just a bonus.

To be fair, people on here are always complaining that 10C are the last to broadcast any news, so it's definitely not the main reason for me being a member.

Like SoS I'm in it primarily for the ticket benefits, anything else is a bonus.
  • well maybe not the latest bad choice of words. guess its just me then

when you would cry at the chance of meeting them in person, .

That would rock if my 10c membership gave me a chance to meet them in person. Besides meeting them on the beach (don't need to be a 10c member to do that) the advantage of the 10c for me is getting wine bottles from Eddie during concerts.

What would be great is if the 10c membership gave us discounts to things...i always loved the onesies for all my friends babies.
    Too many shows to list:
From my first show in Hawaii when they opened for RHCP to upcoming 2016 MSG and Wrigley. Seen them in every continent except Africa and Antarctica.

Does it matter why people join the club really? Everyone one of them must love pj, so live and let live and don't worry so much about the small stuff. Just enjoy the band that you love so much :D

beside, those people that join the 10c just now for the coming Oz/NZ shows might get bit.
10c ticketing hasn't yet been announced but I could totally see them set the cut-off date for membership qualification on the day the shows were announced (ie Sunday) rather than the day they announce the 10c tickets.
  • No, what realy sucks is trying to buy tickets to one of the Philly shows. And sence i wanted 4 tickets i had to wait for public sales..so i did and sold out with in two hours, guess who was at work...me. how ever i had a break and tried to get tickets but none left boohoo. However the tickets where on Stubhub.com, a common scalping site, @ twice the ticket price or more that same hour. Since i was already flying my wife and myself from denver to Philly it was going to cost $450 per ticket, i wasnt going to pay $200 a ticket.

Sorry off topic. I joined 10c to support the greatest band of the planet!

    yes thats ok
cause by joining they might become better fans and better people
maybe they'll hang out here read and learn
theres really alot of good people here sharing info and thought
  • How long have you been a member? Does the longevity define your love or loyalty to the band? Pearl Jam has been a special part of my life since 1991. HAs helped me through many different points of my life, some good, and some bad. I finally joined the club, after attending my 4th PJ show last year in Hartford. I was listening to some tool next to me about how he only joined the fanclub to get seats because he,"heard that they were good live."
This douche isn't even a fan, and he scored better seats than me to see my favorite band, because he heard they sounded good?
The next morning I joined the fan club, not only to get more connected to PJ, but also to help eliminate these type of so called fans. I know I'll be in the back, since most shows are seated by seniority. But shame on me for not joining earlier.

And usually the site has a cut off date to join the club, to avoid situations like this.
All I know is I'm a proud member who was pissed b/c I missed out on tickets for night 1 in Philly! But scored night 2 tickets!!!

    See ya in Philly.

Yeah. Unless you are trying to get hold of Shepherd's Bush tickets. Which unfortunately we only got about 100 paris if that from 10c and the rest have gone into the hands of touts. Paying £200 for a gig ticket is a little too pricey.

I know loads of aussies and kiwis who will be chuffed PJ are playing big shows down there. Great news, you will have a blast.
    :D Rock on!!!! :D
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.

Back when I joined before internet, it was the best and only way to get news. That has obviously changed. It was also before any ticket benefits, so that is definitely not why I joined. :)

they go on to telling everyone to quickly join 10c so you can get great tickets like all of us here would-

As a kiwi 10c member this interested me indeed - because I'm unsure that our membership is going to grant us any benefits at a stadium, GA gig other than possible early entry? I'm hoping that radio station knows something that I don't, but I'm wondering how they can give us any priority unless (here comes the pipe dream) they have the rumoured D section at the front for 10c members. Otherwise it may just be early entry, which is gonna be a fat lot of good for me cause I'll be quite pregnant by that stage and not in any condition to fight to keep my spot at the front!!

I would love to see some kind of priority for kiwi 10c members but in saying that, I don't care if I have to stand in a field in the rain for three hours, I don't care if I don't get the best, closest view, all I care about is hearing those guys who have become a part of my everyday life rocking out, live. It's been a long 14 years since I saw them play their first NZ gig....hard to really believe the wait's nearly over...

I couldnt agree more. I am approaching my 1 year anniversary of joining 10c (08/14 which is also my birthday). I too have been a fan since the early days however never joined until last August. I feel that this fan club is more than just a fan club, its truly a community/family. The couple of PJ shows/Eddie shows ive been to it has been amazing talking with other 10c members. Immediately you feel a bond or connection with that person, so much so I would call them my friend after knowing them for only a short while :D . In response to the topic of this thread, I can only hope that it is first off, the love for the greatest band ever that these people join, NOT the tickets. If they ARE doing it for better tickets, well, thats out of our (the real fans) hands.

My sister who is 4 years older than me, put me onto PJ back when TEN came out. I am happy to say that I can finally repay her for introducing me to PJ by taking her to the best concert she is ever going to see in her lifetime (Philly night 1)....ill be going with a buddy of mine, also a member for night 2 however haha.

Sorry if this was long-winded, wanted to get that off my chest.
