Hi all,
I'm making my first trip out to Seattle next week! I'm going to a friend's wedding, and then I'm staying in the city for 5 days after. I was wondering if anyone could offer some suggestions for Pearl-Jam-slash-Seattle-music-scene-related sights to see. I'm definitely going to see where the Showbox is, and Easy Street records, etc. What else???

I went there for the first time back in May and it was awesome. Easy Street and The Showbox are really cool. Saw Benaroya Hall too.

I took 1st Avenue all the way up past Easy Street Records and found my way to a park that supplied me with an incredible view of the skyline. I went back up at night and took shots for about an hour, it was such a great view. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the park exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was Kerry Park.

Don't forget to visit Jimi Hendrix' grave. Might as well pay your respect to the greatest guitar player of all time! Here's directions: http://www.jimihendrixmemorial.com/visit.html

couldn't tell if you'd be there August 8th or not, but there's a free show/event @ mural amphitheater in Seattle center hosted by our local radio station KEXP (kexp.org) called the KEXP BBQ.

    Featuring:

    Dinosaur Jr.
    Viva Voce
    Cymbals Eat Guitars
    Japandroids
    Born Anchors
    Champagne Champagne

Hey I´m visiting seattle for the shows too! Little advice on where or what to eat. No fancy places. You know just where to get really good pizza, or special seattle food you can´t find anywhere else. I´ll try to go that kerry park you mentioned.

Had a thread on this last week ... so, check out some of those responses ...

    viewtopic.php?f=14&t=104767&p=2410108&hilit=seattle#p2410108

There was also a thread on Gigposters recently as well (one of the members there actually responded "drink coffee and listen to Pearl Jam" ) ...

Getting ready to head to Seattle for the first time myself ... can't wait!

OMG I'm so glad you put this link up. I actually took the 5H tour when I was 19yrs old and went to Seattle for the first time. It was so magical (and all the landmarks still existed). If it wasn't for the 5H guide, I wouldn't have even known about the Sound Garden. Note: since 9/11 the rules about seeing the Sound Garden have changed. Every time I return to Seattle I stop by to see it and it really depends who's on guard that day as to if they'll let you enter the grounds and under what restrictions.

Take time to sit and enjoy the view at Gas Works Park !!!!

Go to Discovery Park!!! I swear, it is the best place in Seattle. Absolutely beautiful. I wish I had left more time to explore it the last time I went to Seattle. The tree photo here on my profile is from Discovery Park. Ok, it's not really music related...oh but there's the Brad album Welcome to Discovery Park, so it is!

Seattle is awesome. I could definitely live there. Have fun!

Isn't Discovery Park where they filmed the "Hunger Strike" video? Or am I thinking of something else?

thanks! I´m gonna avoid the breakfast at the hotel. And try as much of the places I´ve read about. Oh, but it seem it´s a little far from Seattle center. I´m only going to be there for three nights, so mostly gonna walk around the area. Plan the trip. First thing Im gonna do.

    Thanks again.

But ballard is a little far away from key arena, right? How long does it take to get to this place?

Nope. It was filmed at Discovery Park. Alki is the city beach in West Seattle.
