I always thought it was local, just a Eugene radio station, but minutes ago, saw on Z-Rock's wikipedia page that it was a nationally syndicated.

Those were the good old days. I remember this radio station clearly. It was around in the early to mid 90's, and focused heavily on the Grunge scene.

Some of my favorite things were the Z Rock 50, the weekly countdown. A memory that features heavily in my mind, was Betterman being the number 1 song for 13 weeks. And then one week Live's Lightning Crashes knocked it out of number 1. I remember being devastated. literally. My mom had to comfort me, I was pretty upset

Another was the year ending top 100 countdown. I taped the 1994/1995 one, And I remember dissident being on there.

Ahh Those were the days. When you could turn on the radio and here decent music. Imagine that kids!

Yeah, I remember. Didn't they have extended band interviews on like Sunday nights?
  • It was based out of Dallas. I went to high school with a girl who was always hanging out with the on-air talent. She ended up getting married to none other than King Diamond. It was weird seeing King living in the suburbs. Especially Carrollton, TX. Anyway, I think they're divorced now. I don't know if King is still toiling away in Carrollton.

I sure do! I used to listen to it all the time. I still have cassette tapes of recordings of songs I made from that station
