#1 with a bullet of the twenty-three Pearl Jam concerts I've seen (twenty-four after tomorrow but...well, anyway), which puts it #1 of all the concerts I've ever seen, period. "People Have The Power" was incredible; so was the dawning realization that we'd be getting a third encore, Ed's "it's Friday night--what the fuck!" comment and the "Baba" and "YL" closers. After it was done my friends and I drove back to St. Catharine's to crash before heading to State College; crossing the Peace Bridge the Top Gun Anthem came on in the car and we lowered the windows and just blasted it...what an unreal night.

insane night, unreal performance. crowd energy + band energy + crazy setlist = one of the all time epic PJ shows.

    #1 of my 12 shows

although Hartford '08 is a very close second....

I wasn't there (but at State College the next night) but that is one of my favorite bootlegs from '03. That whole encore with Sonic Reducer, Fortunate Son, People Have the Power and whatever else it was, is probably one of the best encore list of songs around. People Have the Power is great.

I can only hope they will play here (buffalo) in 2010. What i don't get is how Ed could love the crowd so much and not play here in 06. I know its really not his decision but i hope they consider a return soon...

This was my first and only show to date. I was worried that they were going to do newer stuff at the time, but they ended up covering a decent chunk of the catalog. I remember waking up about 10 mionutes late that Saturday morning and ended up with seats about half way back in the 200 level of seats. Not the best seats, but nonetheless I loved it.

By the way, talking shit via message board is real cool, real tough guy up there. You know who you are......

Was there! My 2nd show. It was a great show and I have a great story attached to it...

I stayed w/ a friend that night in his dorm/apartment @ Rochester University, we came back from the show and played some beer pong... Fast forward to bed time... picture this one lol... co-ed apartment, I'm in a room w/ 2 beds, one bunk bed and one normal... I'm on the top bunk of the bunk bed and the bottom is empty... in the middle of the night his female suite-mate comes into the dark room I'm trying to fall asleep in and she gets into her bed across the room... She either didn't know or forgot I was there... so I just keep quiet, I can't see anything b/c it's pitch black... few mins later I hear a vibrating noise and then some moaning... it was awkward and kind of awesome and funny. Next morning I get up and she's out cold... I leave the room and tell my buddy what I heard last night and he didn't believe me at first but now does... I think he might have done some investigating... anyway, that's my Buffalo 03 story...

Personal show highlights - I Got Shit & Smile

Also, leaving the venue... everyone was in the lobby of the HSBC and just started cheering... that was fucking cool.

Here is a story from that gig. I had bought my nephew a ticket for that show and before the show had begun I told him to come wait with me in the back of the arena where the band usually pulls in with the hopes of maybe catching a glimpse of the band. At about 430 they pulled past us and about 20 others and cruised into the parking garage in a white van. We thought that was it until....Ed came out with a lit cig and suitcase in hand to come meet us BUFFALO-FAITHFULL where he proceeded to shake all of our hands. I just remember hearing some shit about the night or two before in nassau and how it ended weirdly. As he walked towards us all I had to say was "welcome to Buffalo" which in turn relinquished that Eddie Vedder grin we all know way too well. We were all happy they were playing our city and remember that there was a connection with us all that night and just wish that they would just consider coming back t-o Buffalo instead of playing forty shows in philly- just bitter. Hope to see them up close one day . Peace and love Tommy Boy

Didn't Ed make a funny remark about Mozzarella Cheese at the show?

it took me years to figure out what he meant, but there is a type of Mozzarella called Buffalo Mozzarella,I'm not sure why it's called that. He was trying to make a joke then realized it wasn't funny.

    i dont think thats true

What Ed was trying to say was this:
"We all knew you made the best chicken wings in the world, but we didn't know you also make the best mozzarella in the world"

Except he got it backwards and quit halfway through

Buffalo makes the best pizza of anywhere i've ever been, but its always overshadowed by the 'Buffalo Wings'

Why do you homos keep talking about this show? Hey springsteenfan, move on already! Why did you move to atlanta if buffalo was so great? I gotta go to bed now...with your girlfriend's hot aunt.[/quote

I hope next week's toronto show is filled with radio hits and ted leo singing vocals during the encore. You won't see this till Monday because you're out having sex with Ricco and Todd in the woods while your brother tapes it! I'm not entirely convinced your daughter is yours. I heard your wife entertains drifters and hobos while you're at work.
  • Spoonfull, where are you? not man enough to talk trash on a message board.I hope drunk obnoxious trashy canadian girls go "wooooooo!" during all the songs on friday night right behind you!

Tommy Boy from Buffalo writing a lot tonight. There was some kind of buzz at the backdoor where the band comes in about the show in nassau a couple of nights before. We {watched} the band pull in and cheered and then booed when nobody cane out of the gararge.....except Ed who shook our hands but on his way to us I shouted out "welcome to Buffalo" which promoted his toothless grin- epic- whatever that means. The crowd carried the energy that night and that bootleg was recording us.............
