Where's Boom?

edited July 2009 in The Porch
I've recently noticed that Boom doesn't seem to appear in any of the new songs. He's not in the Got Some video, it certainly doesn't sound like he's on The Fixer, and he sure as hell isn't in the demo version of Speed of Sound.

Are they not touring/recording with him anymore?

well, he's never been a full time member, just a touring key-guy that Eddie met whilst surfing in Hawaii i think....he'll prolly be on at least one track.....I'd almost bet he'll be on tour.....but, what do i know?!?!

Well someone is playing the keys in The Fixer. Not sure if it's Boom or Brenden O'Brein.

in the billboard article they say brendan is playing.

Pearl Jam's members quickly realized what they'd been missing, as O'Brien provided crucial input on arrangements; played piano, keyboard and percussion; and put together orchestrations for delicate Vedder songs like the acoustic guitar-powered "Just Breathe" and the gut-punch finale "The End."

Last time I saw him, he was at a Denny's. No shit.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
  • he will probably tour with them this year, cause there are piano parts in the fixer, and most likely on other songs on Backspacer, so unless brendan o'brien is touring with them, which i doubt, boom will be playing with them in 2009

Hopefully he's out of the equation. It would be madness for him to be on the album when they had BO'B at their disposal. How much better was that Rock Honors version of "Love Reign O'er Me" with Brendan on piano?

It's back to 5 against 1 for the 20 anniversary.

    Boom was an experiment.

Brendon is not going to be able to tour with them.. I'm sure boom is still part of the equation. It's not like he plays every song.

So you're basing this off of two songs and a DEMO.. He doesn't play every song.

The new Billboard article pretty well confirms that Brendan contributed piano and organ to the new album.

If only he would tour with them now.
