I know 10C is charging $13.99 for pre orders, so I am assuming that 10C/Indie packaging is not the same as the Target packaging?

I am hoping to get it a few days early from 10C, which is worth the extra $4 to me.

I agree. I don't mind the $4, just posing the question.

I would think that Target would have them cheaper it is a chain store and can offer a better price. Kinda like when a DVD comes out, some places have them for $24.99 and others have them for $14.99. I got my 10C ordered but I will probably grab one at Target as well, packaging maybe a little different.

my other hesitation was whether Target will have a bonus anything. since 10C does not, I will probably buy it at Target and cancel my 10C order if that is the case.

it's called a "loss leader" ... Best Buy does it as well (not for this album of course)

chances are if there is a bonus item, Target won't announce it until a week before the release when it's in their ad.

then I'll just suck it up and have 2 versions if the "bonus" is worth another $10-15 to me.

To the original question -- if I recall correctly, 10-C said that their version and the indie stores version would be hard-bound, like the Avocado CD packaging.

The Target version will be different (and I'd argue less good) in that respect. It may also contain bonus songs, but if that's the case I'm just going to get them free online or have someone dub them for me.

Buying one copy of the album (directly from the band) is sufficient to me. I'd probably never get around to downloading or trading for a burned CD of any Target bonus material, to be honest with you.

Dub? Wow, that's a blast from the past. High speed dubbing was cool since it made everything sound like Alvin & The Chipmunks.

  • apparently the best part of getting the 10C pre order is that the packing/artwork is different. I don't know how slight it may be, but that's worth it to me. And I've never heard of any PJ album having any bonus content that wasn't offered through 10C, or am I wrong?

On the Billboard article linked in another thread, it says the Target version will give you access to 11 live shows spanning the band's entire career, with the option to download two.

yup. New Year's Eve 1992 with "Speed Wash". sound quality wasn't that great, but it was still a cool bonus.
