Question about fan club tickets

Has anyone ever actually tried to transfer fan club tickets to another person? I know the Ten Club says they wont, but I'm wondering if they've made exceptions if you ask nicely.

When I bought tickets to Chicago II, I was still laid off from my job and living within a distance to where Chicago was just a short drive away. I moved two months ago to a job all the way on the West Coast and while I already laid out $150 for the tickets, I can't afford another $500 for flight/hotel/that sort of thing. Plus the concert is on a Monday and I can't swing two days off a job I just started.

I'd love to say "Hey! I'll just swap Chicago for Los Angeles! Sweet!" But that's not going to happen.

So, has anyone ever had a situation where they just couldn't use their Fan Club tickets? Is it possible to transfer them to a family member, in my case a brother who is also a member of the fan club but does not have tickets to this show? And if I can't transfer the tickets, can I donate them to charity or something?

Or maybe I should just say "eff it!" and be there come hell or high water!

I think in the past they have made transfer exceptions to other 10c members only.

Shoot them a kind e-mail explaining your situation at tickets@tenclub.net

it wont hurt to ask the 10c admins and lay out your sitch.

If they say no, then sell a kidney and fly to Chicago

I know for a fact they did allow member to member transfers as late as the 2006 tour because I was the recipient of transfer 10c tickets that year: However; That was the last year transfers were allowed, seemingly because people unfortunately took advantage of the opportunity (have a friend on another coast with a much better 10c number buy tickets with no intention of going to the show so that you can have better seats than your number would ordinairily provide you with).

They have been adamant from 2007 on about the no transfers - NO EXCEPTIONS.

That being said, it can't hurt to send them an email explaining your situation and see what they have to say. The worst they could say is no.

i don't think that was the case at all. As far as I know, when they did transfers, the recipient's number would be the number used in terms of seniority. I would think they would still do it. They just say they won't to save themselves a lot of headache.

A guy on here cant go to the 02 gig because exceptional personal reasons and 10c will not allow him to sell/give to me. I would even be giving, not selling but giving the spare to a 10c member.

Im not negative but you got no chance dude

With all due respect, you are wrong. The member number of the original purchaser remained even after a transfer. Like I said above, I actually went through this.
  • Overnight your drivers license to your brother?
  • Another 10-clubber was asking about this a few months back, here's the reply I gave him:

"Well, it would be EXTREMELY difficult. In a special circumstance last yr (2008), we DID in fact have tickets transferred to us last minute from a 10club friend who could not make the show & was in a different state at the time. Let's put it this way, you gotta know someone. This guy knew people at the venue box office AND at TenClub, and it was still a big hassle. Even when my husband was sent to Afghanistan & forced to miss the '03 tour, 10club would NOT transfer his tickets to me that he had already purchased. So it's a VERY long shot, but it IS possible."

without looking to start drama, there was discreet chatter about at least one transfer request being allowed for the Vic Theater concert, so never say never,...
