I seriously thought I'd stop watching it by now but I watch it at least 3 times a day. I find something new every time that cracks me up. I like watching the older broads in the back when the wedding party dances and their facial expressions. It really is an all-time classic and shows you the power of Youtube.

By the way the recreated it on the Today show if you didn't see it.

I just happened to catch them being interviewed on the Today show and they said they only rehearsed the dance about an hour and half before the wedding. I thought they'd been practicing for weeks! They just put the vid on YouTube so they wouldn't have to email it to everybody and it went viral. It makes me smile every time I see it. :D

not trying to put anyone down who likes this but am I the only one who thinks this is a tad bit stupid and inappropriate for the setting? I have no problem having fun at a wedding (in fact i love weddings) but doing this in the church before the reception seems very cheesy to me - and then posting it on YouTube. I guess in a reality-tv world this is the stuff you get.

I love weddings just as much as the next guy, and I think the best ones are when everyone is having fun and enjoying the moment. That said, I just don't understand the hype this is getting? If you go on youtube there are numerous theatrical style, lame wedding performances on there. Why has this one garnered so much attention?

I'm not sure it's ever been done in the church like this before. Usually you see this stuff at the reception or the "first dance" and there's tons of that stuff out there. I believe it's the first of it's kind and yes, I guess it's cheesy on some level but for me, it's the sheer "is this really happening" look on the audiences' faces and the wedding party able to pull it off that's pretty cool. The little dances done in sync with each verse of the song, etc. I mean, some of the dancing is a bit corny, but overall it's just so unexpected that all you can do is laugh. It takes a lot to make me laugh and I've seen this 50 times and each time I watch the audience and crack up laughing.

What would have made it perfect?
    ...
Hearing the 'Play Them Off, Keyboard Cat' on the church's organ song.

I've watched it twice and thought it was kind of cute. Was there really a need to do it all again for the Today show? I just watched that and cringed.

Yeah... the first couple times I saw it, it put a smile on my face. They seemed like they were having fun, and that's all that counts. Like I said in another thread, too many weddings are boring, and you'd leave this one talking about it for a while.

But... for the Today show to bring them in to do it again was idiotic. A good part of what made the video fun was the surprise and the look on some of the people's faces in the congregation. On the Today show it just a crappy dance that a bunch of idiots put on.
