But not in '09. Stone says so at the end of an interview with 92.3 cleveland- http://www.radio923fm.com/pages/4860658.php
Sounds like 2010 will be the year for a full-fledged tour in the States so don't bust open that piggy bank just yet! If this info is already known, sorry. This is the closest thing to a confirmation I've heard.

I agree. It's been so long since they played Blossom. The only thing I remember from last time is Eddie came out on his skateboard for the first song (Hail, Hail) and shook my hand during one of the last songs (Baba O' Riley). Everything in between that has faded away.

I'm so happy to hear this. Thank you. (I should listen to the radio more.)
    Except for people mentioning "Blossom."
If you were from Cleveland -- you'd never want to go out there to see a show.

  • Blossom is a really nice venue, but the traffic sucks and then you have to walk 5 miles from the parking lot to the venue.

Whichever one has the later curfew is my favorite. Although we may have to wait until next year, the upside is we'll get to hear even more new songs from the EP of Backspacer leftovers due out in 2010! Working title- "Free Kittens!"

This is AWESOME news. Gives me a bit of relief that I can't make the Philly shows.

I wouldn't mind seeing them a the Q if they play Star Lake in Pittsburgh. That way, we can go to the better outdoor venue and the better arena in the same year. I love outdoor concerts but Blossom has never done much for me.

Primanti Bros and its in Pittsburgh ;)

The best part of the interview was that Stone said they were going to come back to the US and fill in all the areas that they missed. Trying to hit the world in 3 months is rough. But it does look good for 2010.

not sure BUT aside from Cleveland only being a 4 hour drive away, those tasty sandwiches are the reason i always hope for a Cleveland show on any given tour,...

That gives many of us a lot to look forward next year ... and for me that likely means a bunch of shows within driving distance :)

Is it true the Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus is closed? That was certainly just as nice as Star Lake. Too bad. Y'know what the best part of playing at Blossom is- I can ride my bike there! Although, I'd have to get a lift home. Minor detail. And I'll have plenty of time to solve it.

It is true that Polaris, actually Germain ampphitheater, is closed. We have this place called the LC pavillion now. it's right downtown and only holds about 4,000 outside and 2,500 inside. Just saw Incubus there Tuesday night....freaking great!!!!! And Polaris kinda sucked cause all the residents around there hated thsoe concerts and made people end at like 10:30...sucked!!!

I went to Cleveland in '06 and it was one of the best concert experiences of my life! Got to hear 'smile' for the first time, the crowd was insane, AND i got ed's tambourine. cleveland holds a special place in my heart. :)

This concert has a special place in my heart as well. This is the day I was in Cleveland for the show that my husband to be first called me and asked me out for that night and I had to decline since I was there for Pearl Jam. We went out the next day and 2 years later we were married :-)

And isn't this the show Ed fell off stage or was that a different Cleveland show?

He actually fell off in '03 AND '06! In '94 at CSU, he jumped off the stage with a girl and wound up without a shirt when he got back!!

I'd kinda agree if not for the fact that they have rocked the shit outta the Q the last two times I saw them there (03, 06).

I just remember the 03 one I think cause he was carrying a wine bottle when he fell right? Right off the front of the stage!
