Good Record Store in NYC

I'm going to the All Points West Festival this weekend and am going to be spending the day in New York City on monday. Can someone tell me some good record stores in the city where I might find some PJ vinyl or other good rock records. Thanks in advance.

    generations records (my personal favorite)
    house of old 45's usually has cool shit


    head down to the west village and walk around, tons of great record stores over there but the first two i listed are definitely top notch.
    i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

    generation is great, but it aint cheap and its well known-i.e. collectors visit often

    but they have lots of very cool stuff

    I concur... Generation Records is definitely top notch..I've spent many hours in that basement!.. and there's a good spot next door for Thai food.. Damn I love NY..

    but go in the afternoon since the record guy isnt there until around noon.
    i've gotten some pretty cool beatles, nirvana and PJ vinyls from him on my trips to the basement there.

    generation is very good, used to buy my pj boots there pre interweb era
    it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
