Backspacer Tour Wishlist....

1. In LA, over the course of four shows, they play 120 songs, never repeating a single one.
2. They open LA 1 with Yellow Ledbetter and continue to do an entire show "backwards" from the setlist already written....
3. Jack White joins in for the second encore in San Diego.
4. Crash makes kids hoodies that fit my 3 year old and makes more hoodies just like the Canada 05 (Backspacer themed of course.....with the Fixer art work)
5. We had Captain AMerica hats in Boston 04, (which, bty, if anyone has extras, I have been wearing that hat ever since - have gone through three off ebay, need a new one now), Superman hat in Europe 07? and the Batman theme for EV solo shows......this tour they have Plastic Man or Mighty Mouse theme hats.....
6. Mike doesnt get to play Inside Job in San Diego, so he protests by playing only an F minor chord for the rest of the concert.
7. LA 4, They bring everyone on stage like an MC Hammer show. I join fellow Ten CLub members in a dance circle around Stone and we all do the Frog Stomp, Duck Walk thing......
8. Everyone - and I mean everyone - wears flannel vests and doc Martins to LA 3. Maybe the first 2000 fans get free thermal leggins or those retarded clown/crown hats. (sorry Jeff)
9. My Ten Club seats for LA 1 are lottery front row, dead center, and on accident, they placed a massage chair on a keg for me to enjoy. In addition, they added an AT&T pee hole, embedded in the seat, for a trial run. (Yes, if that were the case, I would be sitting for the entire show)
10. At LA2, when it goes silent, I yell out PLAY HEart of Gold, and they immediatly break into - whattya know - Heart of Gold.
11. I could go on, but I am open to other's ideas....

Honestly with this album being shorter... I'd really like to see them begin all the shows with it in its entirety beginning to end. Then on to what would be a huge mix like normal for the rest of the time. They haven't had new material in forever and to hear all the new songs in order would be cool.

How about a Guns and Roses cover?? Paradise City? Rocket Queen?

That would be really cool...and I'd like them to keep on playing "Who You Are".

And you can never have enough "Present Tense".

I'm surprised they never covered a Led Zeppelin song in it's entirety (not counting the performance with Plant). Maybe it's too much of a rock 'n' roll cliche to even cover them at this point. But I always thought Eddie singing Dazed and Confused in a really low, ominous voice could work really well.

to be honest i really think they have enough of their own material to tour on without pulling out any covers aside from the traditional closers they do (i wouldn't mind if they cut them back a bit either)... which was something i didn't like about the 03 & VFC tours... i was so tired of Fortunate Son on the 03 tour... didn't mind some of the other covers like Driven to Tears but I'd really like it better for them to play their own songs especially w/ such an extensive catalog

Agreed, no need to play covers, they have plenty of great songs of their own to play.

Backspacer preset>>>>Jimmy Page guitar clinic>>Into the Wild full band set>>>Set of Zeppelin songs with PJ and Jimmy Page sittin in.... I join in for Ten Years Gone and Achilles Last Stand to cover all the guitar parts>>>>>PJ main set- Backspacer in it's entirety again, followed by the perfect mix of common and rare tunes that I have yet to hear. They close with a Beatles reunion, all 4 members.

Would it be too much to ask for them to dedicate their tour to me? "This tour is a toast to our Hero. We just checked Matt's TenClub order history for the past eight years and realized he has spent for than the GDP of all South American countries combined for that same span.....To Matt!!!!! Get on up here you dog you....."

Going on from the setlist backwards suggestion, how about some alphabetical shows like the Pixies used to do, either starting from the beginning or the end of the alphabet and working the other way? If they opened with Yellow Ledbetter you could still probably guarantee there'd be some fool so drunk/stoned he'd leave after they finished it!

Instead of having the two long encore sets, how about a longer main set and then just one encore set? While we're at it, make sure they start early enough that they can play everything on their setlist (Dublin '06 was great but the fact the curfew was enforced sucked). Alternatively, how about playing 2 sets? The second set could start with 4-5 songs Ed solo or PJ acoustic.

If we're going to suggest the current trend of play the new album from start to finish I'd like to see them maybe consider playing one of their albums in full each night, you could have Backspacer followed by Ten/Vitalogy/one of their other, or maybe even someone elses, albums in full and then an hour of other PJ classics to finish?

Bootlegs available for download again as for 2003-2006. This was pretty cool and it's a shame they took the live download facility away.

And finally, have all their equipment on stage and setup from the start of the night, there's going to be room on most stages for the support act to fit on stage, reduces time we have to wait for PJ as they can come on as soon as they like after the support.
The secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits
