But you know he's going to be playing most of Into the Wild right? :)
*sigh* yes i do. Im not too crazy about it but....i have to be there to support him in at least ONE show. I mean, he IS the lead singer of my all time favorite band. Im more exxxcited to welcome people to cali & help with the pre party and see all my frenz that live far away! Allow me to say that i DO dig Ed ALOT. I dont wanna have his children or anything but his voice can melt u at any moment much like when The Master plays. :D

I agree, soulsinging. Maybe they could each contribute one song and have Stone write more tha half. But as for the generalization that Matt doesn't have the funk in his body? ricokulous.

Well, I haven't been let down by them musically so I am pretty sure they are gonna attract me again with their new efforts. I love both fast and slower songs as well and I enjoy Boom's musical presence in the band as well. So, let's see how it is gonna turn out!

More relaxed, maybe groovy (Stone) and solo oriented (Mike), now that they have the war out of their system (Ed?)

more experimentation. they came back to their roots, so to say, on the last one. this time around, id like some sound effects, some stuff we haven't heard from them. i'm not saying a complete kid a reinvention like a la radiohead, but something similar to that direction. and they're fully capable of doing it (of the girl, etc.)

im all for that. but seriously, what funk does matt have? his even flow solo always sounds so strained and motley crue. jack's drum ryhthm on in my tree is better than those solos. where has matt ever gotten funky? i'll give him credit, he has given the band a much louder and heavier rocking live sound than they ever had before, which has been a big boost to their arena show. but he is not a loose, funky drummer. he's a technician, and he's the best at it. i just think it's ill-suited to pearl jam's strengths... loose, groovy rock tunes written by stone and jeff.

i think they're new album should be called "eleven" but i dont think they have enough balls to do it.. and hopefully ed stops singing about the war, lets hear more songs about hope, i say more uniting songs, less political songs...

Straight up rock like 'Pearl Jam,' with a few slow jams thrown in. Don't mess with that chemistry.

In the direction of hiring Steve Hoffman to master the album and record/master all CDs and vinyl records from the original analogue tapes.

Musical direction: What ever they feel like doing. But hopefully it's a little more experimental.

    Thank you for the forum.

Would love to see them do an all acoustic studio album. Something along the lines of the Grateful Dead's American Beauty or Neil Young's Comes A Time.
