If you're scared, get a dog.

very sad to see this happen to a young guy, but honestly to start a thread associating this incident with the upcoming PJ shows is pure hyperbole. i've attended shows in philly for 20 years and have never seen anything like this. i expect only love for PJ at the show. philly haters can bite me. and the mets blow.

Grow the fuck up dude. You obviously read the post in your own context; whatever that may be because your insight cannot be further from the truth.

Yeah totally agree - you have just as much chance of shit like this happening in any town or city, because of the simple fact that in every city one can easily come across drunken morons who aren't capable of controlling themselves when they've been drinking. Very sad that this had to happen (the young man happens to be from the town I live, Lansdale, which I didn't know until just now), and hopefully those responsible will get what's coming to them.

If you haven't noticed, and I'm guessing you have, Philly gets a bad rap that is sometimes warranted, but more often overblown and cliche. To begin a thread stating that you're "Suddenly scared" to go to the shows here based on a bar fight gone awry and say you're innocent of any innuendo is just plain bullshit. Senseless crime happens everywhere, all the time. It happened at a bar inside Citizens Bank Park during a Philly game tonight. It's a sad anomaly not worthy of linking association with upcoming shows. Stirring baseless shit up is just ignorant.

You are ridiculous. Do you think this is the first time something like this has happened. You probably didn't know this happened at a few games earlier this year and it was never reported.

You're scared to go to a Pearl Jam show in Philly because a bar fight was started by some drunken morons

I guess you're scared to go to Disney World too because people have died riding their rides ?

Or your scared to go into any major city where people get killed daily over stupid bar fights..you must live like a hermit and never leave your house

It must be tough to live your life scared of things..maybe you need that new show on A&E where they treat people with Phobia's and OCD

That's why I stay away from threads like this... people who can only read news articles, which by their nature are written to sell papers. And from these articles make blanket assumptions about other groups of people.

What does this have to do with Pearl Jam? :?
All cities are tough! There's alway's violence. The world & it's people are not all perfect & well mannered.
Just cause this happened in one city, you don't think this happens in other cities around the world?

way to put down a whole city because the actions of a few drunken idiots. you sir are an idiot. stay home and away from the Philly shows if you have such an attitude. We don't need or want you. Every city has its problems and Philly is no exception. Should we point out each cities flaws that PJ is playing? thanks for adding nothing.

i agree. i live in Cincinnati, and the OP should take a look at our morning paper EVERY DAY !!!

but i'm not scared to live here. it like this almost everywhere, you just have to try to avoid area's or sitiuations that could get ugly.

i really dont think the OP's intentions were to slam the whole city. probably just saw the article and posted it, no big deal.
    Peace, Love.

Dallas has a much higher crime rate than Philly and I am not walking around with body armor and a gun.

    Every city has these problems.

stereotypes are usually grounded in truth.

people who get angry defending a "false" stereotype usually know it's true.
