Fixer Meaning

Does anybody else get the feeling that the Fixer is about Eddie being a father? I mean thats what a dad does, he fixes things. He wants to help them and he will fight for his daughters...

    even if that's not what it's entirely about, i get the feeling the utter happiness of the song has to be in some way affected by fatherhood...

    That's what I have been thinking. My husband has a natural tendency to want to 'fix' things -- to take care of problems as they come up, even when the kids or I are capable of handling them ourselves. :) From what I have heard, this behavior is quite common. :D

    according to stone, matt wrote the music and ed wrote the lyrics and the whole band worked on the song
