This would be an extremely difficult decision, but ultimately I'd have to pick sports and live without music. However, if both the Mets and the Jets ever manage to win a championship in my lifetime, I would have to seriously reevaluate the situation ;) ..

Hmmmm, this question on a music-related board. Yeah, wonder how this will work out. Hey, Jose, get your ass over to the alternative Pit. People miss you.

definately a tough one for me, they're my two passions in life

If I can keep baseball, I'd say music would win

but I know can't keep both

    so I can't decide.

If last year is any indication, I chose going to see the Who over being able to watch one of my Phils world series games

but it was a tough decision

but I don't regret it one bit
Don't come closer or I'll have to go

I went to the Bruce show when the Phils were playing the Rockies in '07 and was kicking myself for it. I couldnt fully enjoy the show because I was trying to sneak a peak the whole time at the tv's in the suites.

I went to see Vedder the night of game #6 of the Stanley Cup finals... That was a tough decision, and must have checked the score about a dozen times that night. If it was game #7 or if my Pens could have won it that night of game #6, then I probably wouldn't have went to the concert...

The cup finals are a little bit of an extreme situation, and in general, I'd probably stick with music...

Couldn't the same be said for music?

I'd have to get rid of sports, but it would be hard...less hard, now that Da Burgh has raised the top trophies in the country this year!

For me, this depends on when youre asking me.

If its right now, in the lazy days of summer and long daytimes, i'd choose music over sports .

If you asked me mid wintertime, i might have to choose sports over the music , but just until June .

I'd have to say good bye to sports for sure and worse if i ever learned to play a musical instrument like once did years ago.

    Peace.

I'd have to keep sports....I like reading about sport, listening to commentary about sport, attending games live, and sacking out in front of the tv while watching a game.

Nothing equals the high of a great live show, but I don't get too excited listening to recorded music anymore.

I think music would have to go. I love following my Buckeye football and Tigers baseball too much to let either go. I do love music though... and despite my love of sports, I don't much care for listening to it on the radio. So that'd be rough. But I suppose I could just listen to standup comedy.

But sports is a nightly (during baseball season) or weekend (college football) ritual for me. That'd be tough to let go. And I honestly don't just sit around listening to music anymore like I did as a teen. I love a good live show, but I can't just sit in a room with nothing to do but a cd playing.

Though I'd pick books/literature over both.

Since Indie 103.1 in L.A. went under, there is not any good radio stations here, and sportstalk can be boring, so, I've been listening to Ricky Gervais podcasts....hilarious!

and since no music, there is still sport talk radio for the commutte.

long road trips would suck tho.

and what would they play between puck drops or pitching changes

I chose EV. Still watched the fucking Pens win the next day on dvr because I'm such a sucker for the Cup. And I've spent much of my day reading about Aaron Ward being traded back to the 'Canes, how much buying out Patrick Eaves will cost the Bruins in cap dollars for the next four years, and Phoenix Coyotes court filings. I might go into cardiac arrest if the Flyers ever win the Cup again. BUT...it's music. Always music.

    Ooh, that's a toughie.

I don't think I could live without either. I have music playing ALL the time, even when I don't realize it. I couldn't imagine driving, being at the cottage, or on a patio without music. I couldn't imagine not singing in the shower or putting on a good rock song to get me pumped up for something. Then again, I couldn't imagine Saturday nights in the winter without beer and hockey or afternoon ball games (and beer). Plus, I play sports. I also play piano, but I'd give that up in a second to play sports.

I never thought I'd say it, but I'd have to give up music.
