PJ album - covers

Who else would be SUPER psyched if PJ did a covers-only album?
(not live performances, a real recording session)

Btw - it is 100% legal and ok for one band to cover the original band, even if the original band doesn't want it covered. Once a song is commercially released, anyone can re-record it. There's a fee paid to the original artists.

Recently being on The Who thread, that's where my mind is currently for songs, but I'll add more songs from other bands soon.

What songs would you (really) want PJ to put on a cover album?

(btw - thanks U R A Crazy Breed for the idea, coming from his Who thread)

    Nile Song by Pink Floyd.

When they asked this question on Synergy back in 98 or so I said Nile Song and soon thereafter they started playing Interstellar Overdrive from the same compilation album. ...so I take credit for making Ed consider some early punk Pink. :D

If the question is "would I be psyched?" - Absolutely not. I want more new Pearl Jam material, not covers of other peoples' stuff. And it makes me think of the spaghetti incident (shudder).

If the question is "what would be a good cover for that awful idea?" (sorry!) - Chloe Dancer/ Crown of Thorns done nicely in the studio

Tom Waits - pretty much anything, but I'd LOVE to hear their take on Alice, Invitation to the Blues, or an official, sober (shhhhh) version of That Feel.

is this for the Album ?? cause i have heard PJ covering alot of these songs on the bootlegs .. ?? ;)
would think people would name songs that have never been covered by PJ ...

seen them do this with Neil Young .. 2004 Toledo, Ohio ... "Neil Young - Cortez the Killer" :D
  • I would like to hear them play Pink Floyds Careful With That Axe Eugene. LOL! I doubt that will happen though.

I'd like to hear them cover a Zeppelin song like Ten Years Gone. Or Tommy Gun by The Clash. Or how 'bout The Pistols Anarchy in the UK?

I thought this thread was about PJ Album Covers,.......i.e. art or photography.

While I'm at it,...my favorite is Yield.
