But what do i care, i got my ticket....

People were saying everyone could get the link on the 'ticket' section of their website. Was going to try ticketweb for you people anyway.

Is this not just the normal General Sales? But I guess less 'general sales' because only open to those who purchased the album.

  • I didnt cancel mine yet purely on the basis that the guy on the phone at HMV told me they would do this but then other HMV staff gave out different info...confusing or what! I haven't received a link yet BUT when I spoke to the guy on the phone on Monday he took my order number and told me to hang in there as I would receive a second link directly at some stage - so maybe he wasnt bullshitting after all?

I think we're all going to need lots of windows / tabs openned up tommorow! I'll be refreshing HMV link, HMV general sale and ticketweb like a madman from 8:50 onwards...

So will it be the same link or will they email a different one...I swear I will have a breakdown by the time this is all over!
  • Is this not just the general sale???

Or is this new link in the emails taking us to a separate batch of tickets to the hmv general sale?
    2006 - Astoria, Dublin, Leeds
    2007 - London
    2009 - London, Manchester, London
    2010 - Dublin, Belfast, London
    2011 - Alpine Valley x2
    2012 - Isle of Wight, Manchester x2
  • Is it worth calling them up to find out why they are doing this? It would be good to know we are actually going to *get* those links...

From what I can gather, there is a new batch of tickets solely for those of us who preordered but didn't get lucky, and there is also the normal general sale. I'd suggest to everyone to have both the link and the general sale open tomorrow.

I still have the ones I tried to get in my basket...wonder if I can just checkout...should be quicker that way?
  • I just randomly got through to the same guy I spoke to on Monday at HMV - very amusing and random. Anyhoo he had no info whatsover and has put me on the phone to Keith Prowse as they are handling the ticket allocation!

So I then rang Keith Prowse and filled them in on the whole palava and was told that Keith Prowse are simply the people who post out the tickets and have no clue whatsoever about who this 'exclusive second allocation' is for!

Does anyone else want to try calling HMV to get any answers out of them? I don't know about you guys but I'd be really peed off if the tickets are just for general sale and NOT for people who couldn't get through the ticketing system. Mine are STILL in the bloody basket!!

Actually... seems it is. Guess they will weed out the e-mails of those who received purchase confirmations and resend a link to the others.

Me too, but I seriously doubt that will be the case.

How do people manage this balancing act of refreshing two sites at the same time? What if, while you're refreshing one, tickets are popping up on the other? I guess the more you think about it the more it drives you insane. A bit like life itself, really.

    is this really happening?

If you click the link in the original HMV e-mail, it takes you to a page featuring the very text originally posted in this thread. Which, given HMV's track record thus far, makes for a tentative yes, I'd say.

We're sorry, but the tickets you want are currently SOLD OUT.
Extra tickets may be made available but, as always, these will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

I think it is Jenny... see in red - I read is as a new e-mail will be sent for the second release... which suggests that not all those who purchased will get a link.. maybe only those who were not successful.

  • redrockredrock Posts: 18,341
Maybe they have been sending e-mails out with a different link therefore the 'old' one is not relevant anymore.
