GreenDay @ The Spectrum - PJ Relevant

Saw GreenDay at the Spectrum tonight...a few notes

1 - GD was solid, but they were trying way too hard to get the crowd involved. This started from the FIRST song and continued throughout the entire show. Cool at first, but really got to be annoying. Not comparing PJ to GD, but it will be refreshing to see PJ in chicago and know that music is the only thing that matters and the crowd will participate as necessary.

2 - If you don't have the last two GreenDay albums you are missing out...both are amazing

3 - I have seen KOL and Springsteen (twice) at the Spectrum in the last couple of months. For those shows I sat in the lower level, in sections 206, 209, and 210 (all at the foot of the stage...lower level). Those seats are great...if you get them you should be happy. However tonight I sat in section 301 and I thought my seats were better. I was higher up, but closer to the stage. The Spectrum seating is more verical than the newer arenas (like the wachovia center in philly, which stinks for concerts). I really enjoyed my seats tonight (for the record I was in 301, row 15...which was second to last row in the 300 section).

here is a seating chart...

http://www.wachoviacenter.com/seating/i ... ectrum.jpg

I guess my point is, don't start bitching if you aren't on the floor in the 5th row with your 10 club seats for the Philly shows. As we know, there will be a lot of 10 club members at the Spectrum shows. If you are in the building you will have good seats (unless you're in the 400 level...then you are wayyy up there...but those won't be 10 club tix anyway). I have 10 club seats and I'll be happy just being in the building...there really aren't many bad seats. And if you got TM seats in one of the side stage sections in the 300 level...well, congrats.

I am fired up with all of the current PJ happenings. I am pumped for the chicago and philly shows (can't wait to experience my first chicago crowd and compare it to the phanatical NE crowds). Everyone else should be too. After seeing a great performance by GreenDay tonight I can say we are lucky to have PJ. They truly are the best band in music today...seeing GD only proved that (not a knock on GD -- they put on a great show, just kudos to PJ).

Call me corny, but I feel lucky to have access to PJ's greatness. It pisses me off when some members of this board take them for granted and bitch about petty things, like not getting 10 Club tix or not getting announcements. We should enjoy the craziness this band creates, not complain about it.

Cheers

Thats great to hear. My seats are 314 which are exactly opposite to wear you were seated, so it should be the same distance from the stage. Glad to hear the seats were good.

I was there, too, and agree with most or all of that. It's gonna be a freaking amazing time for PJ.

OR unless you are at the back half of the floor, which are hands down the worst seats for any arena show.

I stood on the back of the floor for a few songs last night, and it sounded/looked great from there. The Spectrum is small.

I wouldn't be disappointed being on the floor either. I know it won't happen, but I wish they would keep the spectrum around as a concert-only venue. I bet they try to ban tailgating when this Philly Live crap opens up in a few years.

That's AWESOME news!! I have seats in 326 (right next to 301) and I was worried I'd only see the side of the band. I'm looking forward to these seats now!

Those seats are awesome. Especially rows 1-12. Anything in 314, 315, 301, 326...those are gold. People try to get seats in 200's which are fine. Personally, I would pay more for the 314, 315, etc.

Occasionally you will find someone on stubhub who thinks they are too high up, and will sell them for less cause they dont knwo what they have.

I haven't been in the upper decks for a long time, but from the floor I could literally see people's faces up there, so I can't imagine their view was bad at all...

completely agree...I would choose the upper level side stage seats over the lower level seats at the foot of the stage.

he isnt kidding. there really isnt a bad seat in the house. and the sound is amazing....perfect acoustics. i have never heard one complaint about the sound quality in this building.

for those who are unfamiliar...here is a good picture... just imagine the silver riser in the foreground as the stage.

We were in section 206 last night -- all the way in the back -- looking straight onto the stage. Far back, but the sound was amazing.

GD was a great concert, but where they got the audience into the concert through theatrics, PJ just has to play their music.

i was there, too. i'm not afraid to admit i really love GD!! :D

they are a solid live band. completely different type of performance than PJ with all of the theatrics but they do connect with the audience - the place was rockin'!

last night made me even more excited for october (if that's possible)! i really don't think there's a bad seat in the spectrum. i was in section 212 last night and the sound was great. crowd was pretty loud around me. BRING ON PJ!!!

Not bad. A little further from the stage from 301, 315. But still decent.

Every seat in that joint is good tho, except for MAYBE the 400's all the way across, or behind the stage.

Personally, I don't care if I have to listen from the bathroom or the rooftop, anything to be in that building once more!

Well how tall are you? Were you actually able to see over everyone for a view of the stage? I'm 5'8" and I have yet to pull that off.

That's true of anywhere on the floor, though, not just the back.
