Hey Everyone!

For all that were at the 8-16-08 EV show at the Warner Theater in Washington, DC, we know that Eddie said they were recording this show for "posterity"...hopefully that means a DVD release! The show was amazing, apart from the fools yelling "Smile" every 2 seconds...but I'm sure they can edit that out in production. Eddie's responses were priceless, like "I know those songs--they're Pearl Jam songs!" or "I'm fortunate enough to be in a band that knows how to play those songs..." Haha Eddie, you rock--now let's see the DVD!!!

Who's with me??

I would love an Ed solo DVD- from any of his shows- east or west, but I've even read a few people on this board that were in attendance last night that said they hope that it doesn't get released because of some of the people in the crowd

some employee of Warner or something came walking down before the show telling everybody to make sure all their shit is off because they are filming a DVD tonight and they do not want any of the LED lights to show.

I dont know if this was just an ill-advised person or something they have been saying everywhere, but that, the Eddie comments, and the HD cameras make me think it could be a possibility.

But I dont know if that has been everywhere or not.

it would be a shame to use last nights show if the crowd cound not contain them selfs

they should make a announcement like before on his west coast tour no pictures yelling from the crowd they will be recording so a few people dont fuck up what could be a very great dvdfor one of the last shows.

but i bet they are tapping again(or have been) , lets hope

they cant let something so special & important to music not to release something

    They should've done NY 1. :D

But seriously, that show was amazing.

there were notices posted on the doors saying it was being recorded, and that by attending you waive your right to be compensated should your image wind up being used for any production in the future yadda yadda yadda

there were also several camera people, dressed in black, with hd shoulder-held cameras filiming from front row, the balcony, etc...

I doubt they'll release it, he messed up quite a few times and didn't seem overly happy with his performance last night. I think he'll probably try take two tonight and give that a go.

  • I went to the show last night. There were a lot of people yelling. It's a shame they have to ruin it. It kinda messed up the night. Hopefully, they can pull some footage from last nights show and tonights show for a dvd.

My first Ed Solo show experience. Yes, they should release Santa Barbara on DVD! :)

I'm hoping they will splice together the footage from both nights and edit down all of the yelling between songs...this is going to make an awesome DVD!!

I figure they filmed both nights in DC as well. The crowd noise can be dealt with. Night one, Ed messed up on MOW, which I'll bet he wanted to get right on night 2.

I wonder if he wore the same clothes on night 2 for continuity sake.

At one point during the DC 2 show, I screamed out " WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING ED ? "

    The response was very interesting:

    " A LOT "

Ed and Liam, EJ, all wore the same things. Crowd was so much better the 2nd night. I think if it is released, it will be songs from both nights. They pretty much have to edit out the whole audience from the first night.

I noticed the same thing too....I'm pretty sure that's why everyone wore the same clothes in order to combine the footage of these shows.

Yeah if this isn't an indication that it's coming out I don't know what is.

But then again Wilco did the same thing a few years back in Chicago and wore the same clothes for four nights and ended up hating the footage and only releasing a double live CD, so hopefully there will be an announcement soon.

Plus one on that. Thats what I expected. I couldn't go to night 2 so I wasn't sure.

I'm pretty sure ThatGirl (Julie) and I saw you walking to your seat before the show on night 1. We were up in the balcony, about 2nd row on the one side.

Really though, chalk that up like the other comments that werent needed on night 1 that he got pissed about. It was so annoying for him and everybody else when all the ass clowns kept yelling out. Why is that necessary? Let the guy play his show, and on top of it they are trying to record.

How many times did he ask the crowd on night 1? About 3? He was way too polite about it in my opinion. He should have freaked out.

probably why he skipped some songs the 2nd night, particularly Walking the Cow. The crowd night 2 was pretty well behaved & silent during most of his songs, he said a little too quiet at times.
