Lotus Stratocaster Signed by Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Duff McKagan and Robin Trower

Description

This auction package, benefiting the CCFA and Advocacy for Patients includes;

* One Lotus Stratocaster guitar with natural wood grain with tortoise-shell pick guard and gig bag
* Guitar autographed by Stone Gossard, Mike McCready, Duff McKagan and Robin Trower
* One 2009 Flight to Mars Goodie Bag, filled
* One 2009 Flight to Mars concert poster, designed by artist Brad Klausen, framed
* One 2009 Flight to Mars concert t-shirt
* One Shadow '86 concert t-shirt
* One Mike McCready guitar pick
* One Pearl Jam "Ten" Legacy Edition CD

Autographed by grunge icons Mike McCready and Stone Gossard of Pearl Jam, hard core rocker Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver and Loaded, and guitar legend Robin Trower, this Lotus Stratocaster guitar is an amazing piece for any guitar collector!

The guitar was signed by the illustrious rock luminaries at the Flight to Mars May 2, 2009 Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) fundraiser concert at the Showbox in Seattle. Joining Flight to Mars at this special event was former Guns N' Roses legendary bassist Duff McKagan and his band Loaded, a surprise appearance by Stone Gossard and Mike McCready's original band Shadow '86, who performed a tribute to Seattle rock legend Jimi Hendrix.

Founded in 2003, Flight to Mars, a tribute to the 80's rock band UFO, features Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready. That same year, the yet to be named Flight to Mars lineup played live at Seattle's Sunset Tavern as part of a surprise encore set after The Rockfords, McCready's other side project, played the first ever CCFA benefit concert. Joining McCready in Flight to Mars are friends and local musicians Tim DiJulio (guitar), Gary Westlake (bass), Kelly Van Camp (drums) and Paul Passereli (vocals).

In 2002 McCready made public his 20-year battle with Crohn's Disease and ulcerative colitis and has since been committed to raising awareness and funding for CCFA. "As a patient living with Crohn's and colitis, the CCFA has played a huge part in helping me get the support and information that I need," says McCready. "I'm grateful that my band mates and friends can support and join me for a night of music and fun that will help us find a cure for these debilitating diseases."

Although Duff McKagan's Loaded was formed some 10 years ago, the number of live gigs that they have played does not reflect its age...until now. Loaded have at long last followed up their thought instilled 2002 release, 'Dark Days', with 'Sick', their tour-de-force penned last summer back in their common ground of Seattle. Loaded will continue their world tour this Spring/09 with gigs in the U.S., Canada, Europe, U.K., Ireland, and Japan. Band Members: Duff McKagan (vocals/guitar/bass), Geoff Reading (drums), Jeff Rouse (bass) and Mike Squires (guitar).

  • I'm sorry, but would it kill them to sign a nice guitar?

    They would get much more money for their cause, that's all

    I disagree. People who bid on autographed guitars generally don't care about the quality of the guitar. Also, from a tax standpoint, and I could be wrong on this, but I believe from a charitable deduction standpoint, you have to factor in the value of the guitar.

  • Robin Trower is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He has been a favorite of mine since the early 70's. I even own a Fender Custom Shop Robin Trower Signature Stratocaster. I would love to have a guitar signed by Trower, McCready, And Gossard. What a combination.

    My son is trying to convince me to take the money from his college fund to bid on it. But since I'm a single mom who has been saving since he was little and barely have enough for 1 year after 12 yrs saving, just not possible. Great job Laura and I hope you make a large amount for this very worthy cause. Good luck to everyone bidding.
