The Fixer will be another #1 hit (on Modern Rock Charts)

In today's sad state of music, "The Fixer" will dominate the charts. While it may not be the next single that everyone on the "Board" was hoping for, it will bring people into the arenas and expand Pearl Jam's relevance. The hook and overall riff is extremely catchy and, with that, people will turn this song up and, most importantly, give the whole album a closer look. That is the goal of every first single and Pearl Jam finally decided to give the casual fans a reason to look past the first "radio single" and explore the entire album.

Cheers to Pearl Jam and I can't wait to rock Chicago with them!

I haven't heard the song once on any radio stations in Boston. I love the song, but WWS and other Avocado songs got way more playtime here in Boston. I don't see this song being on the radio for long.

Radio stations in my town have been rocking it. WWS cant hold a candle to this song as far as radio play goes. The Fixer is pure summer.

I don't know you guys. I think it will debut high (of course) but I think it will fall off faster than WWS did.

I have only heard it once since yesterday here in T.O. I find it weird b/c WWS got played to high hell, has anyone else heard it?
I'm not so sure this song will catch on fire, it's hard to say. This album won't sell anymore, maybe less than S/T, but who the fuck cares.

It may be catchy for this message board, but it will not be catchy enough for the mainstream.

And the overall production and lack of punch and power in Eddies voice will stop this from being a "hit". It will not do as well as WWS, whatever opinion you have of that song as least it made you listen a little bit extra when the chorus kicks in.

(but ofc I want it to be a "hit" if that is what the band is reaching for)

Agree in the sense that anyone who thinks the Fixer will "dominate" the charts is kidding themselves. No chance.
