Uk people going to east coast for tour.

hey, i have tickets for dc and hartford, and will hopefully get tickets for both nyc shows through tm. im thinking of flying to ny, and that being my base. however, staying in new york (after some preliminary research) seems bloody expensive. anyone got any tips, or found any places??

ps. im not surprised that new york is expensive, but a £1000 for a week in 2star hotel...jeez.
