Shepherds Bush Credit/ Debit card question?

Don't have a credit card, just a Visa debit card, which I have always been able to get tickets with through 10 club. In the SBE lottery info they recommend NOT using a debit card as funds would be put on hold when the card is authorised. I have a couple questions, if anyone can help?

1) If I use my debit card and get lucky, there really isn't a problem. But if not, does anyone know how long the bank holds the payment for, even when no transaction has been made?

2) Will I have a problem using a friend or relatives credit card, when none of the information will match that on my 10 club account?

Sorry if these questions seem a little dumb, but I want to give myself the best possible chance of scoring tickets and would not wish to ruin my chances by 'pissing on my own chips'.

I tend to have problem number 2, i have only ever personally collect 10c tickets and that was for Wembley 07. I have to use my mum's mastercard as they don't take my solo. But when i went i think they only asked for photo ID.

the reason they say don't use a Debit is because it might put you in overdraft. I think there's a slight difference in the way money is held (10c puts a hold on the money. then either the hold drops if you're unsuccessful or they charge it if you win) in a debit or credit card. never tried but it might be on a Debit they actually charge you then refund you, rather than listing it as 'available' like on a CC.
As for how long before the hold is cleared, it depends on your bank, some do it quickly, in a 3-4 days period, but I think it can take up to 10 days.

So whichever you use, make sure you have enough funds for the 10c tix AND a direct sale as the 10c hold likely won't have cleared before the general sale.

I wouldn't use a CC registered at a different address for this one, 'cos not sure how it'd affect your qualifying if you try changing address. Normally it's fine, but on that one, I wouldn't take the chance.

This would be a good idea.
