Inside Job from Las Vegas 7-6-06

One of if not the best live version of this song IMO. If you have the boot give it a listen. I was at the show and had a amazing time. Just something about this version that makes it so dam good. :)

    I was so shocked when I heard them opening with this, thought it was awesome though.

    Interesting. I should check it out. I was at the next day's show in San Diego (7/7/06) and I remember Ed talked about how bad the show before was. I guess there were illness and/or crowd issues in Vegas or something.

    Yay! I'm glad others realise how perfect this version is. I wasn't even at this show so there is no bias from me, but i've heard every live version because of the bootlegs and Vegas is easily my favourite version. Hearing the crowd erupt when Ed comes onstage sends shivers down my spine. Dublin has that cool moment too which you can hear clearly.

    Ed may have been ill in Vegas but he sounds fantastic on Inside Job. I think it's the best version they've done.

    Ed dissed the vegas crowd? i dont remember that!!! i was at vegas and LOVED inside job. I dont remember if the crowd was happening or not but i know i personally was rockin out!!! :D SD was OUTSTANDING. it was the drop of BIG WAVE!!! oh yeah but back to inside job......

    Travelled all the way from Oz to see the Vegas show. Clearly the best song to open a show, I love the long intro before Ed came out, what an experience it was to be there.

    He never dissed the Vegas crowd--he kept mentioning (apologizing) how bad his voice felt/sounded.

    I have mixed emotions of that opener--it was my wife's first show, we were on the end of our eisle and at the very start of inside job some drunk ass-clown tried to sneak down and stand next to us and smoke a bowl and share his binoculars.

    In the end it was a great experience.

    Listening to the bootleg now (up to Little Sister as I type). I agree with everyone regarding Inside Job, great opener. And it sounded like Ed only had a real problem singing with Do the Evolution.

    Not the first time Ed has ripped the previous (or upcoming) night's crowd, in order to curry favor with the current audience. I think he does it in jest (usually).

    He didn't rip the crowd, per se. He said "I hated that gig." That doesn't mean that he hated the crowd. He mentioned something of a health issue at the Vegas gig. That might be why he hated it. You never know.

    From sydney 3 it was cool and funny. Ed was like "It is a beautiful song written by Mike McCready, I help him out with words occasionally, but he has never once offered me a guitar lesson. he says 'no i'm keeping the magic to myself' Thats probably because I ask him to teach me this"

    And then Mike blasts off into this wicked solo.... It was cool.

    The show was good, but Eddie was sick as a dog. How he got through the entire show I will never know.

    Inside Job is one of the songs that moves me the most and to see them open with it was awesome. It sounded fantastic and was such a fresh opener.
