Ugh so my boyfriend just got out of surgery for the second time this month :/ and I'm staying with him for the next two nights... It's really sad just sitting here watching him sleep for hours on end...

hospitals are just flat out depressing, nevermind boston's children's hospital :(
anyone else ever been here? saddest stories!

but on another note.. randomly jordan sparks (idol winner) came in and visited us, shes really nice, took pictures and signed stuff. we felt bad because we didnt know any of her songs, we joked after she left, man if only pj was here ;)

if anyones confused, my boyfriend and i send mixed messages, but we both like to post on the forums about different things 8-)

Hope your boyfriend is doing okay after his surgery. Hope you have a good book and your iPod/mp3 player to keep you occupied :D

Is the poor fellow conscious? Game-wise I like mahjong titans on the computer. Always good for wasting time when you should be doing other stuff :? :D

haha I'll have to give that a look-see, hes conscious, but its been a long two days here for him, and he's still on a bunch of meds, so hes barely there :? he had a shunt removed from his head and the hose that ran down into his stomache from when he was an infant about 3 weeks ago-ish, but they left a piece of the hose in his neck to avoid a huge scar on it.. well needless to say, that hose got extremely infected, and he was admitted into emergency surgery yesterday, and it took until 6 tonight for him to go into surgery. such a long day, my poor guy :(

    Yes, they are very depressing.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.

Seriously, when they told me I was gonna be staying for a while... Not a good feeling!

Anyway, I wish him a prompt recovery!

I wish! I broke my leg and had to get a pretty extensive operation... It's still a mess, still can't walk...

I have the misfortune of occasionally having to go into adult homes for work. The one's for folks who have almost nothing beyond a miniscule SSI/SSD payment that barely covers their rent. Really freakin' depressing. It's basically warehousing for the unwanted. :(

Anyway, I hope you and your boyfriend continue to get better and get on back into the world. Good thoughts to both of you.

I work at a hospital in the pathology lab, but I go out to all areas of the hospital. The Critical Care Unit is by far the most depressing place I have ever been. After being there for a year, I've gotten used to it... but there are still some things that you never get used to (and that I would never want to get used to.) But, a glass of wine after work usually puts my mind at ease.

Best of luck to those of you healing...

my boyfriend is a nurse, some of the stuff he tells me is really sad,
especially because he mostly works in geriatrics, some of the older people who don't have anyone visiting them, so sad...

My friends dad also works at the hospital, he says the burn ward is the worst.
The smell, the screaming, everything... he says its the worst experience he's ever had working at the hospital, whenever he has to go there... :(

We don't have a burn ward at my hospital... so anything too bad gets immediately shipped elsewhere. We did get one right around the 4th though. I was on that trauma team...and.. well.. yeah, it takes a while for that smell to get out of your nostrils.

They are VERY depressing, :( plus there's something about the smell too... I've fainted many times in hospitals, it just feels like I can't breath...

I've actually worked in a couple, but always on the administrative side...

    Wish you were here...
