I have 2 kids and seeing them go out in their costumes is more important then attending another pj show. I will be at the first 2 shows already. I am sure there are others that feel the same way.

Well, if that's more important, why even hope for NO show? You know what your priorities are. ;)

Yeah, don't worry about the third show then. What you should do is bring your kids to experience with you and have them trick-or-treat for beers and burgers in the parking lot beforehand. 8-)

    How about, just not go?

I'm only going to one of the Chicago shows and thats it. I'm obsessed, but one or two shows a tour is enough.. makes them that much more special.

And I also have a life besides Pearl Jam. ;)

Seriously, I've seen Ed poke fun at some of the the same people he sees at every show.. he probably shouldn't because they are paying his bills, but I agree with him.

There's so much more to do out there than follow the same band on tour.. If some want to see 3 or 4 shows, I guess thats ok, but anything beyond that becomes compulsive.

This rule applies to traveling as I see it, but going to all the shows in your hometown - I see nothing wrong with that.

What's wrong with going to multiple shows in multiple cities?

Back in 2000, I followed them from Ohio all the way up to Boston. 2 weeks, 5 cities, 8 shows. It was the time of my life. I was young, had the money, and the time to do it.

I couldn't do it now, but I'm very thankful I was able to do it back then. I say, if you have the ability to do it, do it and have fun.

Arguably, they throw on second and third shows so the people who didn't get into the first or second show have a chance to see the band in their hometown. ;)

    exactly.

i don't quite follow the logic here. :?
no one is gonna force you to attend, you're already seeing them 2x....so why can't those of us who would truly LOVe a halloween show possibly get that option simply b/c you want to spend halloween with your kids?

i soooooooooooooooooo HOPE for the halloween show!

i'm currently headed to both Chicago shows. I'm planning on a 3rd Philly show so i can do a triple header with the 30th and 31st PJ shows and a Flyers game on the afternoon of the 31st. that would be pimp.

Of course that's the reason - demand. I have no problem getting tickets for all 4 possible shows without feeling bad about it. I'm using my vacation that week, so there ya go - a vacation that includes Pearl Jam all week, World Series games (yeah, that's right), and an Eagles game. Instead of paying to go away somewhere, I'm letting all the super awesome goodness come to me.

sweet bejeebus. it ain't for you, fair enough...but cmon. hahahahaha. i LOVE travel. i LOVe seeing pj live. combine travel + live pj = bliss. it is such a FUN way to plan a travel itinerary, go to cities and/or countries you'd not might visit otherwise, meet up with all sorts of different people.....nothing cooling than meeting people at/before/after a show....it's just a GREAT time!

i am traveling down to philly, which is not far from home, for right now...one show.....hopefully 2 if they add 10.31. that's it for this year. but HELL yea....i would've soooo been all over chicago (never visited yet) or seattle (love it and sooo many friends will be there) if either fit my work schedule.

i agree with can'tkeepmedown. some of my best trips....seeing pj in the gorge/canada.....the italian tour......more euro shows in 07......travels along the east coast. i would LOVE to see em in oz and/or hawaii. and yea, i would travel with or without pj, and i fill my mind with plenty of other stuff outside pj, even when i go and travel and see pj.

I think (and correct me if I'm wrong) his logic is if the 30th is the last show at the Spectrum,it will be a killer show with no limits but if they play Halloween, the 30th will be a great show(aren't they all!) but not the epic show he'd like to see. So,yes he's being selfish wanting the opportunity to be at the last Spectrum show!

I have to agree i have tickets to the Toronto show only, if i can score tickets to the 31st that would be cool, by the way i did try for the other two Philly shows with no luck but i'm sure as hell not going to go or pay thru my nose to get to see another two shows if one is all i see that will be enough for me at this point in my life >>>

the more important question is - does my HUSBAND think i am crazy. :P and the answer is, sometimes. however, he knows me, chose to marry me - even sometimes comes along to join me....and he loves to see me happy. as do my family and friends. so honestly, WHY would i even care if friends thought i was crazy. i don't give a shit what other people think, i do the things i do b/c they are what i want to do, make ME happy, or to make others happy.....

and i was merely commenting b/c your post, especially about it being 'unhealthy' just seemed......odd, at best. as i said, it's not for you...understandable, it's not for everyone. but there is nothing at all unhalthy about it. i think travel and live pj bring a LOT of people happiness. i know people who travel to go see different sporting events/teams/arenas/stadiums....whatever. if it is something that brings you JOY......it's all good.

I have a 5 year old daughter and plan to go trick or treating early, then head down to the show. I mean, Pearl Jam starts around 8:45pm, why can't people with kids do both?

I was just hoping to see the last PJ show at the Spectrum on Friday night..if Sat. o.k, especially for those who didn't get wed or fri tixs
My wife wouldn't be happy if I hit three shows

Therefore, hopefully for those who didn't get tix...they get to go another night...I just don't want Eddies voice to give out, like some shows after many tour dates!!!

Good luck and be happy people!

Now this is a catch 22. Please do not take this personally those of you that were shut out of the October 30th show!!! Having been born and raised in Philadelphia and having seen a million sporting events and concerts there, I hope that they do not add anymore shows. That being said, I truly feel for those that were shut out of such a meaningful and historic event. Please try and understand that it's not greed that propels our desire for no more shows, but a longing to be a part of something that has been with us from childhood to present. Again, I wish all of you the best of luck in finding your way into that building on the 30th. :D

There's so much more to do out there than follow the same band on tour.. If some want to see 3 or 4 shows, I guess thats ok, but anything beyond that becomes compulsive.
A list of places I probably would not have visited and experienced over the last 6 years if this was the case:

    Adelaide
    Tokyo
    Yokohama
    Nagoya
    Osaka
    Munich
    Katowice/Krakow
    Paris
    London
    Dusseldorf
    Copenhagen
    Amsterdam
    Leuven

and tying in with those cities, because of the people I've met from going to the shows-
Vancouver, Seattle, Dublin, Cologne, the Kvarner bay, Berlin, Venice, Verona, Bruges, British Midlands, Norwich

    and following soon
    Rotterdam, Manchester and Philly.

Along the way, it becomes more about the journey than the destination- the pleasure of new friends, the joy of seeing old friends, the stories you collect, the food and drink, the acquaintances all over, the diversity... no person who has not done it can understand. The shows just become a great excuse to travel and to lose yourself in the wide world. And I can't stress enough on the new and old friends part.

    EXACTLY.

    pistoia, italy?
hell, i've never even HEARd of it until pj announced the italian shows.....and what a spectacular show, people and great little town......soooo worthy! it Is the journey.

and this is also why i am only hitting up 1, maybe 2 - if 10.31 gets added - philly show(s). i've been to philly. i've seen philly. i really don't need to 'visit' philly. so i am not spending vacation days on a place i've been and really would'nt be revisiting, if not for the fact that it's the closest show to home, and all the other dates thus far i can't make. so philly, i am going for pj and only pj....tho sure, friends too! save my time for other travels, maybe other shows...
