Sitting behind the Stage at an Arena Show

So, I managed to get tickets to Philly 2, but I'm in 323 behind the stage. I've been to lots of concerts, but I've never been behind a stage before. In fact, I've always looked back there and wondered, "Why would anyone want to sit behind the stage?" So tell me, what is it really like to watch a concert from behind the stage?

I really don't know if this is an end stage event to be honest. My receipt says center stage. I'm calling to find out.

I was behind the stage at Reading 2004. If you've never been to a PJ show, I think it would suck. But as someone who has been to a couple at that point, it was actually a cool new perspective.

Sat behind the stage at MSG twice, seats were awesome, sound was fine. I'm behind the stage for Friday night and in a luxury box for Saturday (assuming it happens). Don't listen to the "have fun with last kiss" comments. Then again, I guess I don;t care if I ever lock eyes with Eddie, but I did that too in row 2 in Hamilton in '05. It's good to see them from every angle over time I've found. Never a bad seat in the house! :)

EDIT: A lot of the fun for me is watching the crowd... from behind the stage, you can see the mass of people and it's quite a sight...

I was behind the stage for an MSG show in '98

    The view was good...no complaints

Except for the girl who kept getting up and walking by us every 3 mins

I told her "This is the last time Im moving!"

Out of the 23 shows I have been to, I sat behind the stage at MSG and the Spectrum in '03. By far two of the best Pearl Jam experience for me.

never sat behind the stage for PJ but was behind stage for U2 once and thought is was fine. sound was really good and we where closer to the stage then if we would have been on the floor. and most bands that have this set up are aware and will turn around a few times during the show. PJ usually plays at least one song to the people in the back and Ed is always looking back there during the show.

my 10c number usually puts me at the back of the floor. i just picked up a pair of lowers behind the stage this morning, so i will have an extra pair for friday night.

i've only sit behind the stage once before, first row at the meadowlands for u2. the seats were incredibly close with a great view, much better than the view of the back of heads i usually have from the back of the floor since i'm 'height challenged". i won't want to be at the back of the floor for both the 28th & 30th and see pretty much nothing, so unless i win the lottery, i'll probably opt for the seats behind the stage that night.

I've sat behind the stage quite a few times now, mostly for Springsteen. I would rather sit there than across the arena looking straight on. You get to see a ton of stuff you don't see from the front. Like the bands interaction with the crowd, each other and the stage crew. I got to see Springsteen calling audibles and Max Weinberg having to change out a snare drum mid song. it's definately a different experience, I hope you all enjoy it, I will be behind the stage for Philly night 2.
