If I remeber correctly, The Doors asked Eddie to tour with them. Does anyone know why that didn't happen?

Thanks

oh, I think it was a location thing........?

Jim Morrison was in France......(or dead depending what your beliefs are)....

    And Eddie was in Seattle.........alive.

Oh and maybe there is that whole like what? thirty year age difference?

  • I think I remember reading in Rolling Stone maybe? that the Doors drummer said Ed would be the perfect singer to tour with for their 40 year anniversary. Of course, nothing ever came of it.

  • in order to make any real money, they need a full time singer. Ed already has a full time job. Brett, formerly of Fuel, was free and has made a career of singing other people's songs.

I didn't realize that the Doors were still a band.........

so on that please excuse my lack of knowledge.....

(not that anyone responded to me, anyway........)

are the rest of the band intact? or is it just Jim Morrison that is dead?

I can't imagine how it would feel to be asked by so many legends to do these honors as he is.......

and I most likely never will.........

blown away, I am sure though........

Eddie sang a couple of songs with them at their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. That's probably the show you're thinking of.

I don't like when bands get another dude to sing.
It's like Nirvana reforming with another frontman or The Clash with a new frontman. Dead Kennedy's are not DK's without Jello!

    No thanks!

And I am a die hard Doors fan!

Ian Atsbury did the first tour with them, and Brett from Fuel toured with them a few years later.
    This weekend we rock Portland
