10C Appreciation

There are (as always) negative threads regarding 10C tickets all over this board which is needs to be put in perspective in my opinion.

I have been a 10C member for over 15yrs and have good and bad experiences with getting tix through the 10C but it has been overall a very positive experience and the 10C needs to be applauded more than trashed for the service that they have provided since TEN.

For $10-$15 dollars a year we have been given the opportunity to get closer to the music and the band which is a very small price to pay. While tix are never a guarantee we have access to almost every show (in some shape or form) as well as to downloads that should never been taken for granted.

While not being successful in getting tickets to shows in your hometown or show you really want is unfortunate it is no reason to bite the hand that feeds your desire. Pearl Jam has no obligation to give you tickets, play in your hometown, play in your backyard, or invite you over to dinner.

If you are unhappy deal with it or don't renew your membership but do not bash one of the best fan club in the industry.

While there's been plenty of stress... overall I am thrilled with the tickets and opportunities I have gotten through 10C. Amazing overall!!

Bottom line: there are more people who want tickets than there are seats available.

No matter what way 10c does things; there will unfortunately always be people left out. That's just the way it is. Its too bad people can't realize that. No matter what you do about the servers, etc. there still aren't enough tickets for everyone. THIS IS VERY SIMPLE LOGIC.

For the record, I think 10c does it the fairest way possible. They didn't do it like Toronto or Chicago where you got the email and tickets were already on sale. Everyone had an equal opportunity. Its too bad that people have to be rude and bash because they didn't get tickets. I think it shows their level of intellect and/or maturity.

Keep up the good work 10c!

I've been in the Fan Club for a while. i got in because they offered an alternative to dealing with ChargeLine phone calls and Ticketmaster Outlets at May Company or Music Plus stores. And back then, all shows were General Admission, so seating wasn't an issue.
The fan club offered us ONE pair of tickets per tour... which was great because it meant that i wouldn't have to deal with the bullshit that went along with buying concert tickets. And i didn't go to more than one show, anyway.
Seniority didn't come into play til the Yield Tour of 1998. And it was GREAT. Hassle free ticket buying and it landed me in the 3rd Row in San Diego. I was forever grateful for that.
    ...
Things have changed, now. Many of us expect to gain access to multiple shows for an annual fee of what... 20 bucks? And greed seems to have consumed everythng nowadays. I am sure that our little fan club has to fight these assholes for seats... and it gets harder and harder every time. Why should a promoter sell the first few rows to people for face value when they know they can make bank by scalping them to the highest bidder? Supply and demand and all that crap... let the market set the price, right?
I wouldn't mind if it went back to ONE pair of tickets per Tour. Make us deal with the TicketMonster and all the bullshit that comes with it (how much do you think that single $75.75 face value ticket at Gibson Ampitheater is going to set you back this Saturday?). We seem to have become an ungrateful lot... with a huge sense of entitlement just because we spend 20 bucks a year (or a nickel per day) in membership fees. How did we get here?
And one last thing... one day, this will all go away. The way i see it... i am thankful that i am given this chance. I mean, what else am i gonna do with a nickel per day... right?

The 10 club is great. They always have been. But I'd still like to know what it would take to have a larger share of the venue so that all 10c members could attend the shows they want to. I really wonder what things would be like had more bands joined PJ in the fight against ticketmaster.

    Anyway, great job 10c.

I wholeheartedly agree! GIVE IT UP FOR THE 10C PEOPLE!!! I am a long timer, #145 something i think, and through the 10c I have attended many special concerts. On the other hand, there are also many concerts I have missed out on. In short, you win some, you loose some people - that's life. The truth is that the 10c and pj does more for its fans than any other fan club / band. You know what too? . . . . they don't have to people. So complainers, are you thirsty? How about a WARM GLASS OF SHUT THE HELL UP?
    Shows 40 and 41 incoming.
