So when does 10C institute a "Hometown Advantage"

No Philly tickets for me. Shut out. I'm sure there are a lot of outer staters headin to philly though.
I think this would be a good idea. Give some advantage for fans who actually live in the state of the concert being held.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

I agree with this 100% I think people should get some sort of hometown show priority. However the logistics of that would be a nightmare.

they were able to limit the europe shows to europe only fans for the first couple days. im sure they could figure it out

What about the poor people who don't get any shows near them and have to travel far and pay so much just to do it? I'm not personally complaining here in NY, but it seems people only want the hometown advantage when they live in a town that frequently gets a lot of shows, ie NY, Philly, Boston, etc.

  • I don't think they would be able to handle a hometown advantage thing, however I do think they should have handled Philly the same as LA--doesn't seem fair that some people are going to both shows when most of us did not even get one show. I never whine about these things but this is SOOOO disappointing.

It sounds great in theory, but there are a lot of places that never get to see PJ, and fans can't get punished for where they live.

But I DO think maybe it's time to institute a 10C show per tour - not necessarily one, but maybe three or four - so that more people are able to attend.

but that's the equivalent of limiting the Philly shows to the whole US (shows in the UK were opened to whole of Europe, samish size/population as the entire US).. which is mainly the East people going anyway, only a very limited number of people from Europe or West coast tried for tix (though I know a few from midwest, but again, not the majority)

local advantage is fine when there's a full blown tour, but since Philly is the only show in the East this year, frankly that'd be totally unfair to give Philly people an advantage, it's not like NYers or Bostonian would have their show.

    doesn't work.

Why should someone from Portland, OR be shut out of a Seattle show that is 3 hrs away, but someone from Spokane, WA can drive 4 hours and go to the show.

I have to say (in my opinion of course) that I'm totally against a so called "Hometown Advantage". Not all of us are lucky enough to live in a place that PJ frequents. Why should ten club bow down to the hometown crowd? I thought Pearl Jam shows were for everyone? Why should people who live in a certain geographical area get special privileges?
