Wasnt this supposed to be The Fixer/Got Some as recently as yesterday?? Did they just change this??
Yes to both. I'm fairly certain it was changed today.
5/28/06 - Camden, NJ 5/30/06 - Washington, DC 6/22/08 - Washington, DC 10/31/09 - Philadelphia, PA 8/5/16 - Fenway Park Temple of the Dog - 11/5/2016 - Philadelphia, PA 7/1/2018 - Prague 7/3/2018 - Kraków 7/5/2018 - Berlin
Maybe they only made 50 of the originally stated record... and when those sold out, they are selling a different one. that's one way to make it a limited edition
That would be a legal problem wouldn't it.. really? If I made a purchase Monday that was advertised as one thing, they can't go and change my order to be something else can they - without stating something like "or similar item"? What if I would have passed on the purchase if I knew that supersonic was going to be on it... maybe I only bought it because of got some.. I'm not looking to ask for my money back, I'm just asking the question whether they can really do this.
This is what the order said at the time: The Fixer/Got Some: $5.99 (+ $4.00 S&H), 7" White vinyl 45 rpm record. Street date 8/24. We'll get it to you as close to then as possible. Item must be purchased separately.
False advertising claims are usually a matter of civil courts, and the only outcome usually results in companies having to correct themselves as to what they're selling rather than fines and punishment, which is what ten club is doing anyway so turning it into a legal issue would be pretty petty.
If you had your heart set on Got Some you could probably easily write them and E-mail and ten club will most likely refund you.
The only reason I know this is from the civil suit against frosted minnie wheats claiming that their cereal will make you smarter.
I'm not griping because I really don't care one way or another. I WAS curious whether they could do that though. Like I said, I'm not asking for my money back. Clearly if I bought it and it wasn't what was advertised, I would think they would be obligated to provide a refund...
In regards to this issue and a few others I've read recently, from a customer service perspective, I do think that some sort of communication (either in email or a sticky on the board) about this change with some explanation would be helpful in eliminating the multiple threads and unanswered questions that fans have.

Doing that wouldn't accomplish anything. If they wanted to make a change to increase sales they would have changed the b-side to a non album track.
I think it is generally understood and accepted that albums may sometimes have last minute changes before release including the track listing. The same rules could apply to changing a b-side for a single, since what they are really trying sell is the song on the a-side.
It was originally listed as $5.99 when many of us first did the pre-purchase. We then received an e-mail from Santos explaining that there was an error and that shipping was actually $4.00. I believe $4.00 is the price in the goods section right now (for shipping of the 7").
**Edit Below**
It still says $5.99 in the Goods section, but the single is now listed as "The Fixer/Supersonic" like the title of this thread.
Here is Santos' e-mail:
