honestly, i think this is - overall - less about michael moore and a LOT more about the insurance industry, period. i don't think it matters what the fuck you personally think about michael moore. i see it as a healthcare industry insider simply saying, yea....they tried to do what they could to stop information getting out there. it's disturbing that more are not at least semi-alarmed or upset about it. i realize we've grown quite accustomed to such bullshit, but that doesn't mean it still shouldn't piss you the fuck off. we DESERVE better care.

Actually, no, I posted this thread mainly to get a discussion going about Michael Moore and whether, at least in the case of 'Sicko', he was spot on. Unfortunately, becauase this message board has recently been over-run with abusive, ignorant juveniles who have been allowed to return from their previous life-time bans on the old message board, all we mainly got on this thread was that Michael Moore is a 'fat, hateful piece of shit'.
Until this message board ever gets cleaned up we can just expect more of the same.
It was killing you that nobody was paying attention to you wasn't it? You NEED the argument for validation eh?
It's not about paying attention to me. Why do you find it so difficult to take me out of the equation?
This thread is about Michael Moore, the movie 'Sicko' and the health industry. It's not about me.
All you Michael Moore haters have nothing constructive to say because the op has rammed your pathetic insults and criticisms of Michael Moore back down your throats. You have no response to this thread because the truth hurts.

1. Because you kept bumping it practically jumping up and down saying "where are you all, bring it on!"
2. Because that thing is way too long for me to bother reading.
3. Because I can tell from the headline that I'd agree with everything in there, and I've read rundowns of the insurance guy's tell-all interviews and was not remotely surprised at the shit things they are doing. I loathe the insurance industry and think it's the most crooked, disgusting field out there. I don't understand why lawyers are so reviled but nobody talks about the corruption of the insurance industry in America.
4. Even so, Michael Moore is a moron. He's no different from Sean Hannity... selective information to lead to histrionic outrage. I tend to agree with Moore's conclusions more, but his research and arguments are flawed and dishonest. Bush deserved all the smackdowns he ever got, but that doesn't mean Fahrenheit 9/11 was a good documentary... it was crap. There was a goldmine of material to tear the right a new one over that whole thing, and Moore blew it by opting for cheap theatrics and weak circumstantial "evidence" over substance.

Sorry to dent your ego, but this thread wasn't aimed solely at you.

I never claimed it was. I just popped in and saw the overlarge blue font you used to try to bait people and it cracked me up. Vintage Byrnzie!
Anyway, bottom line is health insurance in America = fucked and corrupt, but it's not because Michael Moore says so and he's not a particularly compelling source of authority for any argument (see gun control, America's response to 9/11, health insurance industry). The tell-all information from the former health industry exec is far more interesting than anything Moore has to say on the topic.

more insults I see. just never ends with you
Hopefully one day I'll be able to attain your high standards Jlew.

That's funny...I thought you just said it was too long for you to bother reading it?
I've read that guy's comments elsewhere, in far more concise format. I saw enough of the lead and from scrolling down to know who they were discussing and that I don't give a fuck what Michael Moore thinks about it.

i wasn't questioning your personal intent on posting, i was merely pointing out that imo, it's less about michael moore and a LOT more about what a healthcare insider has to say about the industry and it's practices. for americans, no matter what they think about michael moore is really irrelevant as no matter the opinion, they should sit up and take notice of what this man has to say...and yea......be pissed off if they weren't already. no matter who had made this film, the healthcare industry's reaction to it would be the same - to try and interfere with it's release and/or tone down it's message. and THAT should anger a lot of people, b/c it is just yet again illustrating the truth of just what is going on in our healthcare industry. so much for that beloved choice and quality of care many think we are all getting. that was all...

Absolutely. The majority of the show wasn't about Michael Moore. PBS is replaying this show friday night August 7th by the way for those who aren't inclined to watch it online. Bill Moyers Journal does some great work.

cool.....i had no idea.
i found the OP just FULL of great, and appalling, information. one need not even watch it, just read the transcript. me, i far rather read...thus why i appreciate this thread. i am really surprised more have not discussed the actual content of it all. as i've said on the one hand...it's unsurprising, but on the other....we DESERVE so much more than this!

Then why are you posting your hateful bile on this thread?
