Hey folks, below is a message from my friend Brad M. at thefadedline.com, he's trying to raise some money to help his sister...read below...

Hi all, I feel weird opening my personal life on a band's site but I need some help. My sister-in-law, Christina, has suffered from a handful of tragic events in Aspen over the past two years (involved in a car accident totaled her car and left her with large medical bills, stalked and domestically abused by boyfriend who is in now jail, lost vast possessions in apartment fire including her cat Buddy, and most tragically lost her boyfriend in a tragic snowboarding accident in March - picture below of them was taken a few weeks before he died on Buttermilk Mountain.) Any one of these by itself test one’s character. This has all happened to her in 2 years! She is moving to Denver to be with family as she tries to get her life back together, but she needs help!

I am trying to raise money to send her to Outward Bound. Thanks to the generosity of many artists I've worked with over the years, I have received posters (some rare variants as well) from Brad Klausen, Emek, Michael Everett, Todd Slater, Marq Spusta, Stanley Mouse, Jeff Wood, Gary Houston, a Grateful Dead limited edition book from Jay Blakesberg and a Phish photo from Europe 1996 from C. Taylor Crothers. My company Faded Line will be making many donations as well. Our auction is here: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/shirtmasters. If we have a poster you've been looking for in our auction, bid on it and know that it's going to an extremely important cause. It's weird because I have always done my best to raise money for starving people and the environment by contributing posters to auctions for Rock The Earth and Conscious Alliance, but this isn't someone who is starving or has a terminal illness, however, she needs all the help she can get. And for me, I turn to my fellow art enthusiasts and music lovers for that help.

I have been talking about sending Christina to Outward Bound since she was 12 years old when she was dealing with depression from her parents’ divorce and bulimia. Since then, I must have referenced it every other year and now I need to make it come to fruition. My parents sent me to the Minnesota Boundary Waters Outward Bound when I was 13. It changed my life. I went from abusing alcohol and drugs, getting arrested and kicked out of school in the 8th grade to running for class President in the fall of 9th grade (I got Social Chair but that was a start!). Long story short, it gave me direction and the self-confidence I was lacking. She absolutely needs that right now and simply put, is lost in life. We’ve probably all been there but hers is severe as she has also battled addictions in her 26 years of life, which would be easy to fall back on in this time of mourning.

The good news is that Christina received some financial aid for a 3 week mountaineering course in September. The bad news is we still have to raise another $3,000. Any money raised above the cost of her tuition and expenses will be donated to Judi's House in Denver (http://www.judishouse.org) whose mission is to help children and families who are grieving the death of a loved one find hope and healing within themselves which was started by the Denver Broncos QB Brian Griese. OWB mission statement is here if you are unfamiliar with the program.

Even if we do not have an item you want, you could help by posting our auction link on social networking sites like Facebook or Myspace, other music and poster forums, or even band specific forums. I'm sure that people who love Pearl Jam would want to know that Brad donated The DC grim reaper or Easy St Records poster. So please, help me if you can!
