A better question is what ISN'T a Pearl Jam concert? For me, it's a near-religious experience, an opportunity to talk to cool die-hards, to hear fans screaming and singing along like there's no tomorrow, a kick-ass show, and something to look forward to.

"It's a near-religous experience"
I agree 100000%0 -
5, 6 guys playing music on stage, to a crowd that has a bunch of people who are at least a bit jaded, a bunch of people who paid cos it seems like a good night out, a bunch of frat boys, a bunch who travel wayyyyyyyyyy too much to see them time after time, and a bunch who spend more time fretting about the condition of the poster than actually paying attention to the show.115 bucks for half a haircut by a novice? I want my money back!0

I'm not a fan of religion at all - stopped attending synagogue in about the sixth grade. I believe in believing in something, but frankly, my beliefs are my own, and aren't shared by most.BH71937 wrote:Ledbetterman10 wrote:YoullseeDragons wrote:"It's a near-religous experience"

We're a LOT alike in that regard, bud.... I've always felt that there was something... but that no one has got it right so far.
I also think a lot of people just seem to need to believe in something, to keep from admitting that there may just be nothing.0 -
5 great musicians connecting with their well traveled fans in a safe and loud environment0

a PJ concert is better than Christmas!

the day you get your 10c tix is better than Christmas Eve!*~Pearl Jam will be blasted from speakers until morale improves~*0 -

It's funny because I went full circle. I was initially of the opinion that religion was merely humanity trying to explain what science couldn't - filling in the gaps. I thought it was a load of crap that would one day be replaced entirely by scientific knowledge. Now, I think science helps me understand religion, rather than battle with it. For example, the principle of the conservation of energy, suggesting that energy in the universe is constant, has brought me to the opinion that perhaps what some people call god is simply the initial unexplainable energy in the universe, and that conscious energy ball morphed itself into the universe we know today. This has helped me comprehend the universe, and helps me feel interconnected with everyone and everything, as well as provided me with meaning. Like I said - my beliefs aren't shared by most

Something I told my teachers frequently in middle school (and on): I am not a god damn drone. I am not a mindless sheep. They gave me detention

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a USPS box at the venue? Then you could buy it, tube it, mail it, and go off to your seat.
