Fan Member Consideration...

I'm not telling people what to do here... just making a suggestion formed out of consideration to my fellow Fan Club members.
...
If you already got your Los Angeles tickets and/or are not in the market for Los Angeles... please, consider those who are and let them have a shot.
We all know how frustrating ticket buying can be... so, instead of adding to their anxiety... let's support them by steering clear of those resources.
Thanx.

Not quite sure what you are asking for here.

Don't buy tickets if you already have some? Isn't that being prevented by the 10C anyway?

Don't buy tickets if you don't plan on going? Wouldn't that be absolutely foolish considering the no-transfer policy?

Perhaps I'm just not understanding you clearly...

I think he means stay off the site to keep traffic down. I think. It was poorly worded so I don't know, though.

Just consider it bad PJ karma to try for tickets when you already have some.

I think he is asking people to refrain from going thru the ticket buying process if they are not actually planning on buying tickets.

i think this is what he/she is saying. back in the day this how we did it, not so sure with this new bunch ;)

but yeah, the less traffic to the site, the smoother it will go for those trying to get tix.

    good luck to all.

I could be wrong, but I would think the op was maybe suggesting that if you're not really buying tickets, don't be popping into goods checking to see how if there are still tix avail, just out of curiosity sake, or something like that. No need to bog down an over-taxed situation.

but I could be totally off-base here. won't be the last time, i'm sure.

Yeah... that's what i meant. If you ain't buying... stay away and let those whom are buying have free range.

The truth is - the Goods section server I think is TOTALLY stable, and CAN withstand the traffic generated by those looking to buy, as well as those looking to test the waters. It's 'pearljam.com' which appears to be on a different server, and unfortunately, most people go there to access the Goods section, rather than the secure.pearljam.com part.

I think that's a fair suggestion and a nod to those people who may not be aware of what they are doing if they are not planning on making purchases...

I've stayed clear of the site other than the pre-orders yesterday.... I remember thinking "I wish those fuckers would just leave the site alone so I can try to make some purchases!" when tickets went on sale in the past. Quite frustrating and increasing my anxiety/stress level.

    Karma will come around....

I wish everyone best of luck!

What they should do I make the forums unavailable for an half an hour or so after tickets go on sale. Make a sticky topic letting everybody know that is what's going on ahead of time. Maybe something for them to try next time.

yeah people who aren't buying tickets for the show should try to stay off the site (even the message pit) if they can. but just for the first few minutes of the sale because of the traffic.

Reads to me like he was one of the people logging on and clogging the server "just to see" if he could buy tickets if he wanted.

But, everyone comes in via the Web portal... right? The Message Board and the secured server where the purchases are made may be on different servers... but, if the Web Server crashes... we're all out.
The good thing being... if you can't get onto the server to get tickets... no one can. That means, no sales are taking place.
    But, the anxiety is brutal.

Yeah. Unless he bought tickets and happend to notice the speed.

I was just wondering if there was a quicker way to go about tickets? What does he mean by the "secure.pearljam.com part"?

    exactly.
putting tix in your cart when you have no intention of buying them and/or you can't buy them b/c you already bought for another LA show.....just slows the servers, adds to other ticket buyers anxiety, slows the whole process. why people do this, i will never know....

    ha!
    now THAT's optimism....as to the band's longevity.
that said, even with picture ID, he'd have to come to the venue to pick up his tix, that would be comical!

i did consider getting his passport or a DMV ID. Walking him up to the ticket window and dropping down his "photo ID' would be tyt. I decided not to pimp him out for tickets though. He only gets to go to the outdoor show Friday, OLF.

he was a member within 48 hours of birth. Hopefuly when he's an adult he can get some good seats. maybe a 400K+ number will be good in 2030.

He means it's a lot more stable to access the Goods page via THIS link:

    I think that's a little nudge-nudge-wink-wink secret around here...
