Chicago Suggestions Please
Hey everyone a few things:
I am flying in the morning of the show and staying at the hyatt.
What is my best bet for hotel transfers? Taxi? Subway? Train? I honestly have no idea.
I am looking for a nice restaraunt to take my girlfriend. She isn't the biggest PJ fan but is tagging along for the shows, so I want to take her somewhere nice Tues or Wed Night. Any suggestions of a good steak house? I know the georgettes or something place I saw on the travel channel is supposed to be good but I am really not all that sure. Any help would be apprectiative.

as for steak, the original Mortons is consistently good, but I would hit Joe's Stone Crab.....amazing steak

You want something original to Chicago?
Keefer's Restaurant is an awesome steak house. Highly recommend it.
1.) Public transportation in Chicago is very simple, reliable, safe, and easy to use. I'd get around using that instead of taxi. Cheaper. www.transitchicago.com
2.) Steakhouse suggestion would be Gibsons. Never had a bad meal there. And while you'll typically have a short wait, the bar area is big, so you and your girlfriend can have a couple drinks while you wait for your table. http://www.gibsonssteakhouse.com/
*Other steak joints: Morton's, Ruth's Chris, Smith & Wollensky
**A personal favorite of mine is a rib joint called Twin Anchors. Not super classy, but the ribs are spectacular and you can drink your fill of Old Style. SInatra used to frequent the place in his day. www.twinanchorsribs.com
I am so pumped by the way, doing the sears tower, wrigley, architechture cruise. Can not wait for this trip.
1.) A real touristy place to go - but plenty of locals go too - is a place called Howl at the Moon (26 W. Hubbard St). Unless you and your girlfriend have no pulse, it's hard not to have a good time there. ;-) (www.howlatthemoon.com)
2.) Joe's Bar (http://joesbar.com/). Huge place - half sports bar/half live music performances. Check out their website for who will be playing the nights you're in town.
Hate to recommend anything else because I don't know you and your interests, and bars can really be so hit or miss. If I were back in Chicago in your shoes, I'd grab an early steak dinner at Gibson's with some Chianti, then head to Howl at the Moon for deuling piano rock songs with my girl while throwing back some Old Style!
Some of the best memories i have ever was singing baba oreilly on stage at a piano bar with ed style tambourine in birmingham, al of all places lol.
Someone rate these steakhouses for me in best order
catch 35
gibsons
gene and georgetti
