i know we've all been talking about the re-issue of vs. but where did we get confirmation on re-issues of the other albums?
I think back when the Ten re-issue was announced they said something in the vein of "all of the catalogue will be re-released up to the band's 20th anniversary".

I noticed with the Ten re-release that the bottom portion indicated a collection from "1990-1992".
So I'm thinking, they could very well put Vs, Vitalogy, & Perhaps Merkinball (Mirrorball) in one collector's edition boxed set "1992-1995". I think I would prefer that rather than every single album being re-released. Saves money, and they could probably do that sooner.

I agree, I think Ten will be the only one reissued on its own. The others will come in pacakges like this, if they are all reissued.

I more expect to see something like REM's deluxe editions. Remastered and paired with a bonus disc of an old live show or something.
Me too. I don't see the need to re-issue it! It's great as is.
They don't need to remaster (or "redux") it at all - but if they happen to have some more special treats stored away (like the unplugged dvd and DITP vinyl) then I'm all for having Special Deluxe Editions of every album!
I think it would be a bit of a shame if there weren't SDE packages for every album. It would be cool to have a special copy of their entire catalogue

Well, lets be honest, none of the albums really need a redux version. I'm just in it for the b-side tracks. I'm sure there are Vs. era songs that have never seen the light of day. Also, wouldn't at all mind hearing a vault version of Alone.
this is being done by sony legacy not 10c or the band. sony still has the rights to whatever material pj put out while under contract with them.
yes but Sony is giving PJ creative control as they did with Ten. So I sure they're just waiting until after Backspacer is released to give details on Vs.

of course sony is giving pj control. you think sony would come up with a cool reissue package like pj did and charge 140 for it.

Remember when Eddie 'lost' his notebook with all the lyrics to Vs. I'd be interested in hearing more about that and how that affected the album that was ultimately recorded.
Dear Eddie and Jeff... and any other Pearl Jam type person or persons who is going through the boxes in the garage to put together the 'Vs.' re-issue...
Please, think about including the Indio, CA. show of November, 1993 in the boxed set. It was a defining show of that time period. Hopefully, there is DVD quality footage available, other than those shakey YouTube splices we see pop up. It was kind of a strange, pivotal time in America... as the last vestages of the Sunset Blvd. Aqua-Net headbangers were on their last breath and the new American rock movement (sometimes known as 'Grunge') was in full swing. The resulting kookfest that was the earliest beginnings of what would eventually become 'Coachella' stands as a testament of that time in our lives.
And I admit to having a selfish motive behind all of this... I missed a large portion of the show as I escorted a gal with a 3 inch gash in her forehead from some psycho, spastic's biker boot buckle from the massive, unavoidable, Mad-Max influenced mosh pit over to first-aid to get stiched up. It'd be nice to see what I had missed, looking for the triage tent.
That night turned out to be one of those soundtrack life-changer nights for me. In one instance, a ticket I got for free... well, for the price of a ride in my VW Bug to East Bumfucking, Indio... turned a solid Nirvana/Soundgarden fan to a loyal Pearl Jam fan. You only get a couple of those moments in your life and I think you have to recognize it when it happens. I understood that night... that the Rock Banner that had been carried by predesessors, the likes of The Who and Led Zeppelin had been picked up and raised again. I thought the 80s and MTV had killed Rock forever, but I was wrong... Rock wouldn't die. I don't think I will see it raised again, like it was in 1993, when this ride is over.... I hope I'm wrong, again.
Anyway... I think it would be a nice time capsule item that reminds us where we all were back then... and how far we have come since then.
Thanx for listening...

I just hope these "reissues" don't go the way of The Vault and The Digital Lounge...
My instinct is that it will. Over the years we've seen various pj projects that just dissappeared. The 95 movie, the vault, the digital lounge etc... sometimes there plans just fade away....

That'd be my guess too. I don't have much faith in their follow through, esp with the new album and tour coming around soon. Unless they drop one big box set of reissues around the 20th anniversary. But that kinda defeats the purpose. The albums post-Ten don't really need remastering so it's mainly about whatever extras they're going to throw in, and they could just as easily do a clearing house box set like the neil young thing instead.

im with you on that.....i dont see them doing much them maybe REmastering them ....tweeking the levels a little and PUMPIN UP THE VOLUME
as for the SO CALLED vault/ digital loungs......... WHAT A BUNCH OF BULLCRAP........PJ/10c love teasing with our emotions ......
Actually, I think they are going to combine the VS - Vitalogy era into one box set. On the Ten Box set, they have the years 1990-1992, I think they will stay with that format and go 1993-95; probably combine No Code and Yield 96-98, and so on.
frankly, i'd rather see one (or several) boxes with only new, unreleased or unavailable/vinyl live stuff. the ten box set is cool, but it would've been cooler if you coulda got the new stuff (drop in the park, unplugged) w/o dropping 140.
i mean, is anyone out there really intrested in spending upwards of 100 on a re-release of an album you just bought like 3 or 4 years ago for half a dozen b-sides?

They're gonna remaster it, which will make it sound "good" for the way people listen to music now.
I'm gonna guess the only real improvement will be the vinyl being heavier. The rest will be brickwalled to death.

Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Maybe not. But they would have included RITFW in the live discs and not changed the lyrics and order to the songs on unplugged. My guess.
