How do I get my old username back?

I had at least several hundred posts on my old username in the old forums. How can I recover that (and my post count)? I had to create a new username in order to be able to post on these forums. Forgive me if this has been asked before.

i have the same problem. i missed out on the whole 'merging' thing. i want my old name back!
