So, "Got Some" is the B-side for "The Fixer"? Out on 8/24?

That's interesting. I would have thought Got Some would have been the 2nd single release off the album. The good: We'll hear an official version of Got Some before the album release. The bad: No non-album B-side to the Fixer. The question, I guess, is the 8/24 date. I'm assuming the radio release and online release is still next week on 7/20, right? If The Fixer is available as a single in an online format on 7/20, will Got Some also be available as the b-side at that same time? I.e., NEXT MONDAY? I remember, Unemployable was available when WWS was released as an online single. Here's to hoping...

Good call, dude. There's a definite possibility that Got Some will be released digitially along side The Fixer next Monday if history is any indication of their release practices! (By history, I'm referring to the WWS and Unemployable release back in 06).

I'm glad. First because I can't wait to hear a studio "Got Some," but second because on record release day I want to hear as many songs for the first time as possible.

  • Also, it'll be good to hear 'got some' then 'the fixer' as it will be on the album. we'll get a feel for the way the album flows.

I'm also thinking that if the official release of Backspacer is 9/20 (Sunday) and they try to get it to you by that date, as stated on the website, and they do based on my past experience... We all know the post office is closed on Sundays.

My bet or theory is that 10c will try to get it delivered to you by that Friday or Saturday. Obviously, 10c can't control the post office(rain/sleet/hail) so there will be certain people with "exception" stories, but I've seen cases in the past where there was delivery on 10c preorders arrivinga day or two prior to the public release date.

So, I just pre-ordered. It would be really cool to get the CD a day or 2 early. Maybe it won't happen. But there's a chance.

With everything else they've managed to screw up over the years, they did a pretty good job of getting s/t out early. I remember getting the 10C version like the Thursday or Friday before the official Tuesday release date

Didn't you get a download code if you pre-ordered S/T (Avocado)? Or am I imagining that

Do you remember if they announced ahead of time they'd be giving us a download link, or if it was a surprise?

I was out of town when Avocado came out, so I forget how the timing worked.

I think they'd announced before that they'd send out a download on the release day. I don't think some of us were expecting to get the CD early.

S/T arriving the previous Thu/Fri/Sat was amazing especially given it had an official Tuesday release date and I would have thought Tuesday with Mon/Wed being the exceptions. Here, we stand a greater chance, IMO, of an early arrival due to the Sunday factor, and 10c really does try to do nice things for the fans.

Is the single going to be available through Traget on the 20th? If so, I wonder if they will have some sort of special. :?:

Yeah, man, what the fuck happened to non-album b-sides? I remember how much fun it was trying to track those down back in the day. Ah, the early 90's...

You are exactly right. Like with time in quarters... "A quarter past 5". With digital clocks, what does a quarter mean anyway? With CD's, there were no sides but it was a disk so you could sort of visualize it still. With iTunes and digital downloads, what is a side anymore? When we lose the concept of sides, then what? You by a song? Good bye concept album? If PJ is all vinyl-nostalgic, then they should keep the "side" concept alive, right? If it ever becomes an all download world, you can still call it a b-side. And as grandparents, we just have to explain what the term "side" came from. Like we'll have to explain old meanings for the old terms "gay" and "lickety split".

    seems this way
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
    "..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”

I think your clock example is a little off. A quater of an hour is 15 minutes whether that's on a "face" clock or digital. Sorry to be a turd.

It's ok, Mr Turd, I was referring to the circular clock and the hands and visually seeing the quarters of a circle. With digital, you're right, they're still quarters. With circular clocks slowly wanishing and digital being more predominant, I could imagine myself having to explain it. I see your point.

they did announce when you ordered, I wouldn't have otherwise (since the CD took 6 bloody weeks to arrive!)
