If you are not going to the Seattle shows, PLEASE READ

I would just like to kindly ask that if you are not planning on attending the Seattle shows, please for the sake of all of us who wish to buy tickets, stay off the Goods section during the sale times today. I know I and loads of other people here would be very appreciative of this so that we may get tickets more easily.

    people who try to get tickets in their cart (just to see if they can) with zero intention of buying them deserve to be beaten.
    i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

    +1. To me, it's almost equivalent to kicking someone's crutches.. taking something wounded (the Goods section), and pushing it to its limits (and past usually).

    deal, as long as those of you going to seattle (and not philly) afford those of us trying to buy philly tickets on wednesday the same courtesy :D

    ps. i wasn't planning on doing the "put them in my cart to see if i can" thing for seattle in the first place

    I agree with this thread, but you all know as much as I do, people will still do this. I will never forget reading someone on here that kept MSG tickets in their basket for until they sold out- then they made a thread about it- "I'm about to release my tickets- like they were doing everyone a favor or something.

    That being said, I hope everyone here gets the tickets that they want. Good luck!

    Yeah you are right, someone will still do it. But it can't hurt just to put a note up ahead of time, hoping it does some good.

    thi sissue comes up every time tix go on sale.....and there always those who 'test' the system no matter what... :?

    This is a good practice...unfortunately nearsighted though......not everyone comes on here to read the postings...so this will likely do very little but give some reading to the board users...thats about it.

    Agreed. I'll be trying in an hour for my seats, so I promise to stay away during the other onsales to keep the site moving smoothly for those looking to get tix to the other shows.

    i did not know that....unless i'm going for tix, i generally ignore tickets threads...what an asshole....and to anyone else that would do such a thing....it never occurred to me to try for tix to shows i'm not planning to go to :? :roll:

    but yeah tomorrow if you're not going to la please stay away!! :P :D

    I don't know what current technology they have in place, but tickets should be released to the system within about ten or fifteen minutes, in my opinion. That's plenty of time to decide whether you'd like to get them or not.

    But I have given a dissenting thought on this practice before and I'll do it again.

    I don't think there is any added burden from people practicing, or putting tickets in their cart, or being on line.

    It doesn't change anyone's probability AT ALL.

    All of the SEA tickets will be sold to deserving Ten Club members, and if you get them immediately cause no one was 'practicing', or you get them after someone who was 'practicing' released them to you it makes no difference.

    As many people who lose tickets cause some one 'practicing' beat them to a set of tickets, there will people who benefit cause they had tickets released that had been put into some scoflaws cart.

    The key to this is to not give up. Keep trying. If the site crashes then it will be back.

    I think the only reason to stay away, other than a slow moving site, would be to keep the people trying for tickets happy.

    That is as good a reason as any, cause the idea that someone 'practicing' has any effect on the outcome is slightly ridiculous.
