It was just over 50 when I woke up this morning (Green Bay WI). I wore a jacket to work, on July 13th!
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

    seriously!
NY has been cooler than usual, but still low 80s.....and you bet NO HUMIDITY! it is like a gift from god/mother nature. it's been a rather rainy summer thus far, however....weekends have been sunny! so you bet, i've been LOVING this summer! it would be awesome to go right thru to september and skip over the usual, oppressive humidity... 8-)

    Damn, that's crazy.
It's not quite as hot here in FLA, but with the humidity, I start sweating like a hooker on five dollar hooker-day just walking to my car.

I'm coming to Vegas on Friday....god damn is that hot! But its always nice and cool when you're sitting at a blackjack table. I can handle it for a weekend trip, but I dunno if I could live in that heat all year.

    103 today.

    Humidity at 40%.

    Fuck me.

The problem with the heat/humidity combo like that is that is never cools off at night. This morning on the way into work it was 86. 86 at 7:00 AM!!

At least in the desert it cools off at night.

I work in my garden most every the morning and have to quit by about 11:30.

I should translate: Gardening in Texas this time of year means dragging the hose around to water some more. The lawn is so dry it crunches when I walk across it.

All of you coming to ACL should be forewarned. It probably won't be this hot in October but it will still be hot.

I wonder if this is why they backed it up a few weeks. I've not ben to the ACL fest but I hear it is brutal. As September in Austin can be.

I'm pretty sure that's why they did. When I went 2 years ago it was early in September, then last year it was later in the month.

2 years ago it was the heat that was killer, last year it was the DUST. But supposedly they've planted more grass in Zilker Park to take care of that problem.

We go with a group of friends and couple of them have gone every year since it started so by now I feel like I can handle anything! I swear, as we get closer to the date I'm gonna start a thread on how to get ready for ACL.;)

that's a good idea. last year was brutal. all that dust..the non stop heat...

hopefully, the "grass project" @ Zilker will be good.

In Vancouver you never know what the weather will be. 30 Celsius in the day..then low 12 at night..
Rain in the morning...hot and sunny in the afternoon.
You never know what the weather will be until you wake up and step outside...(at least for the morning anyways)
This is why it stays so green! :D
In the summer you look forward to the blanket and coffee on the porch...but in the winter you can't wait until you can put on your summer gear and play outside. I will take the heat any day over constant rain and snow.

On my way to Lost Wage$ two weeks from today. And to be honest I'm really looking forward to the 108 - 112 degree weather!

We've had hardly any summer weather to speak of yet this year so I'm really looking forward to baking in the sun for a few days.

Yeah, we're like Dallas but bump up the humidity to like 80-90%. Hottest summer on record in Houston. And that's saying something. My poor two year old is going batshit crazy locked up in the house. We're like vampires. We go outside after the sun goes down.

    Vampires! OMG that is hilarious!

I don't envy you, I have spent plenty of time in Houston and I think the weather there is MISERABLE! :!:

God... I couldn't deal with that...

Everyone I know keeps complaining how bad our summer has sucked in the northeast, but I LOVE it (minus some of the rain)... the nights are still cool and the days are in the 70's...

it sure is. i lived there for most of my life...i love the city, but can't tolerate that humidity. Waco is a different animal, though. it's too damn hot here as well---actually, it gets hotter than Houston but there's no humidity & hardly any breeze. ugh.
