What's the appropriate thing to do w/ an extra T.C. ticket?

As of now I'm planning on taking one of my good buddies to few shows on the tour but I'm a little worried he could end up bailing on me. If that happens (following ten club rules of course) what are some of my options? Can I offer it to someone here on the board? Can I sell it for face value to another t-club member?

yes, but asking for extra stuff or trading for something that is worth much more than the ticket is essentially scalping, IMO.

You can do whatever you want with it. The fair and honest thing to do would be sell it for face value on here or to another person that you know.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

  • There was one person wanting someone to show up early to Chicago, get in line early, and buy a poster and a shirt (I think) which would equate to about the same as the ticket price or less instead of paying cash for the ticket. The 10c admins are watching the board so I'm sure they'll let you know if you were to post a deal that would violate their rules. Just make sure to read the 10c rules about selling/trading and you should be fine.

Isn't reselling it on here pointless since we are all 10c members who could purchase their own tickets?

Yeah, you can resell it for face value to anyone you want.

its not pointless at all. What's happens if someone gets shut it out of tix for a certin concert or decide they have the means to trave but didn't when tix went on sale

You can put it on Craigs list for a grand or so and see what happens 8-)
  • This is a great way to make new friends. Sell it for face value and hopefully you will get a rockin' seat mate happy that somebody had a spare.

having had extras myself here is what I have done:

Offered my Extra Vic to a buddy for face
Offered my extra DC 08 to a board member for face
Offered my extra MSG 1 to a board member for face
Offered my extra MSG 2 to a board member for face
Donated my spare Chicago 2 this tour to the Wishlist charity as an auction- all proceeds going to charity including purchase price (meaning I made zero dollars on it and gave it to the charity- I do get to write off 68 whole dollars though)

so if you sell it it should be for face value or you violate TC rules, if you donate it get the ok first and watch the charity make some money!

Alright, I'll be the jerk and say it. I've sold many an extra ticket to 10c members and it's RARELY without stress. I've even had a few back out the day of the show. Seems some like the security of having a promised ticket, but will dump it (and you) for a better seat if they can find one without remorse. My advice: if you can give it to someone you know that's the way to go. If not, just keep in mind that guarantees are only as good as the people who make them...

without mentioning a name, i can think of one person off the Porch i know/have heard that's done this. the prospect of moving up even one or two rows through a better 10C number is just too great for some to resist, even after having agreed to purchase an extra ticket thereby denying others in line,...

    1. Give to friend for face value
    2. Give to a true fan for face value
    3. trade for something of equal value
    4. donate to one of the wishlist foundation preparty fundraisers for auction before the show. (tax write off)

I just recently joined and therefore am not eligible for 10c tickets. If anyone can't go, I would surely take them off your hands! Thanks!
