I like to join with everyone else in the anticipation and the party that goes along with a new release. This journey we're on for a new album only comes every few years. If I had it, I wouldn't be playing it until Sept. 20 so I can come to the party.
I've been enjoying the songs we've been given...have always loved the lyric discussions going way back to the Pearl Jam Lyrics folder on AOL. I can still remember the day someone figured out the word "accumulating" in Breath. It was great, ha.

That would mean the unfortunate circumstances that
would result from the album leaking earlier than it is
supposed to be out.
Some Ten Club members will get banned for pointing out
where to find download links.Happens every album.
Trust me,i should know.Do not pm anyone on here who asks where
they can download the album from.It could be a setup AND could have
you banned for life if you tell them where you can find it.
TRUST ME PEOPLE !!!!!!!!! DONT DO IT!
Dont say i didnt forewarn you all ;(
It is taking money from the band, plain and simple.
It doesnt matter if you have already pre-purchased the album.
That still doesnt make it legal to STEAL it early, just because you
already bought it.
Thats the mentality that people have nowdays. That as long as i
have already paid for it,then it automatically gives me a license
to download it early.
The problem is,is that you are contributing by helping to spread the
torrent for others to STEAL it.
Sure, the person who first uploads the files should be vilified, but
is instead, thanked profusely for giving the WORLD early access
to something that no one has any more patience to wait for, like
KATsaid so eloquently.
Just look at it this way....................what do you all think would have
happened if computers were around back in the 50's & 60's when rock and roll
bands were first starting out? Would we still have had Elvis,The Beatles,
The Stones or The Who? Would they have had as long of career's as they
have had,if people were able to steal all of their music from them, thus
making it that much harder to survive in such a tough break industry?
Possibly,from touring and merchandising alone.
But for smaller bands, stealing their music, that they had to pay for
themselves to create(by paying for studio time),is just outright wrong.
We will be robbed in the long run,by these bands folding up and
ceasing to exist anymore, due to lack of funds, therefore robbing us
of much more kick arse music in the future.0 -
The second I bought the lp I stopped thinking about the leak. Didn't see the S/T leak, but I did get Riot Act early and it just wasn't the same experience. I want the lp bursting loud with the artwork in my hands on this one. The total package seems special this time around.0

This is another one that should be locked up0

I hate it when albums leak, but on the other hand I hate even more going to see a band play lots of new material knowing no one will know any of it! At the Astoria show they played lots of the selftitled songs, and I only knew the lyrics because of the leaked album. Out of the shows I've been to I've only ever seen Army Reserve at the Astoria, so without the leaked album that would have been a wasted moment. I'd like to hear the new stuff before the euro tour to be honest, I'll still buy the album.Paul

As soon as it hits the warehouse at Target. Nothing before that. The guys have great contol over it now, which is how it should be.Straight down the center for a hot chicken dinner!0

A few weeks back I was saying mid-August, but looking at how well The Fixer was controlled, I'm now thinking it may not be until 2 weeks before the release...so early to mid-September. It seems they have much more control over leaks and what not now that they are self-releasing (i.e., no label). I will admit, I'll listen to a leak if it's album quality (or around 256 kbps) - anything less, no thanks. I've already ordered a nice, juicy copy from 10C.0

I, too, will be buying the album first day, but I'm foaming at the mouth to get a leak of this thing so I can finally hear it! I love Pearl Jam WAY too much to wait if I can hear the thing early - and they'll still get their much deserved money. Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?0

i doubt Eddie and the guys are taking shifts guarding the crates of Backspacer, so i doubt self releasing it will make much difference.0

I agree, but the fact it hasnt leaked yet is pretty remarkable. its one of the most anticipated albums of the year by a major rock band. The fact it hasnt been leaked yet, is a head scratcher frankly0 -

I already pre-ordered the LP, im going to pre-order another LP (to keep sealed) and then pre-order the CD version as well
KAT, JUST MAKE SURE WE RECIEVE THESE COME RELEASE DATE AND NOT A MONTH LATER
I already spent about $28 to get two copies from 10C: one to listen to and the other to keep closed (why? I don't know). I have a 10C copy of Avocado that is still sealed. I might spend $12 on another 10C copy of that as well.11/6/95, 11/18/97, 7/13/98, 7/14/98, 10/24/00, 10/25/00, 10/28/00, 6/2/03, 6/3/03, 6/5/03, 7/6/06, 7/7/06, 7/9/06, 7/10/06, 7/13/06, 7/15/06, 7/16/06, 7/18/06, 10/21/06, 4/10/08, 4/13/08, 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, 10/9/090
